It doesn't matter if you're the happiest person, an unfortunate weeper, a powerful beast, or a terrifying creature. We're all equal in the eyes of the Reaper.

Anytime, IrwinC. If I'd remembered it was you, I'd have cited you as the source.

If that's true, then how come some of us grow older than others?

A couple of years longer versus the billions the universe has existed... Its an almost 0% difference when it comes to the scale of everything else. Also, I'm pretty sure Death just had a bit of a backlog and got to some people later than others.

But in terms of how long we live relative to how long others live, some live to be 100 times older than others. Some are dead at birth and some die of old age when they are 110 years old.

But otherwise, a good point.

You're implying that humans are the benchmark of time. Between an attosecond and an eon, human lifespans fall pretty squarely in the middle, with standard deviation making even a couple centuries a statistically zero percent difference. You could be dead on arrival or live to an absurd age of 200+ years old and still be "equal" on a universal scale. The entropy that eventually takes everything (i.e. "The Reaper") makes no distinction between even our middle-ground of life, the lifespan of a galaxy, and the time it takes an electron to make a single revolution.
TL;DR - Time takes us all without distinction.
