(10/31/2015) [-] I'm a liberal, I'm not afraid to admit that, and I agree that the race card is played way too ******* much when it comes to black people vs. the police.
The police aren't this massive collection of racists out to arrest black people. There are even black cops, lots of them. To say that there's a racist-driven agenda for the police to beat on young black kids is ridiculous in its own right. Are there racist cops? I'm sure. But every infraction between a cop and an african american person is not racially motivated, it's probably because the nignog did something illegal.
That doesn't mean, of course, people haven't gotten hurt by the police and they really did do nothing wrong. We've got far too much evidence to prove that already. The police do have an authority problem, and instances of police brutality are coming to light that were never seen before because everyone has a camera in their pocket. But police brutality isn't only targeting black folk. It's against everyone.
We need a reform to our police force to take effect across the country. I'm in favor of body cameras, as it would help clear up 90%+ of all of the accountability problems we face. If you have video footage of that young punk running at you with a knife, you clearly had every right to shoot him. If he was walking down the street and scratched his ass and made eye contact with you, and you shot him, we have a very different story. It eliminates witnesses, the need for forensic scene reconstruction, an would save millions in court costs.
