DAY ONE WITHOUT SMOKING

So after 10+ years of smoking, I've decided to quit cold turkey. I didn't smoke much. Overboard would be 2 packs a week. Vaping didnt help when I tried to quit a few years ago and it costs much more than the $6/week I spent on Santa Fe mini cigars. So within 4 months of vaping I was back to smoking. I was going to quit this Friday but my last pack of smokes got crushed.
Day one with no smoking is almost done. I've been chewing gum at work and constantly ignoring that voice in my head to smoke. Hopefully that voice will die down within the next couple weeks.
Any tips from any of you former smokers?

I started exercising, after my lungs cleared out and all the carbon monoxide was cleared out of my red blood cells, I felt like a friggin superhero.

This is so true. Daily exercise was the only way I could quit after 17 years of smoking. The stuff that comes out of your lungs is nasty, but once it is gone everything is different. Smells, tastes, everything. And smoke will be one of the most repulsive things to you. Stay strong and congrats.

Stay busy. Keep preoccupied.

Sometimes I hear stories like this, and I wonder: in a year from now, will he still have not eaten any cold turkey?

i just chewed gum, i smoked for 9 years every time that minty freshness hits the back of ya throat i just imagined it was a smoke, did the job for me, the hardest part is kinking the mental craving they last years, dont want scare you away but ya better of preparing yourself, you will kick the nicotine habit in a few weeks but you really need to prepare for the mental part, best bit of advice i can give is stay away from other smokers and dont drink as it will make you want to smoke 10 fold

most cravings last between 3 to 9 seconds, sounds ******** but that's how long the brain fires up for one.

the best way to get clean is to get nicotine out of the system, and it leaves the body easily through sweat. so working out and hitting a suana works.

but a social experiment claims that addictions is almost purely environmental, www.youtube.com/watch?v=ao8L-0nSYzg so get a better life i guess.

I'm sorry the vape didn't work for you bra, that's what did the trick for me, I have had to quit some hard drugs lately though and the big trick for that was stay busy, keep up with your chores, indulge in healthy interests, work out and get ************* , just stay mission-minded and remember why you need to succeed in what you're doin. Channel your roll models, think of important people in your life you'd like to out-live like your kids or whoever you got. Kill that addiction like a warrior.

Search up videos of hypnosis on stopping. It is a near-surefire way, as long as you really want to quit. If you find that doesn't work (which would surprise me), I'd recommend meditation.
