A lot of our human knowledge is based off of pointless things. This little project stands as a proof of concept rather than much else. Before watching this i did not know that by boiling compressed wood you can have it return to it's natural uncompressed state and with this knowledge I am sure engineers have done many great things in the past and will likely continue to. Rather than ask "what can we do with this?" a true engineer would ask "what can we learn from this?"
so you can present it to some one as a puzzle... "I got it in there without breaking anything so you should be able to remove the nail without breaking the wood.
