When I watched the new "Teen Titans GO!" I died a little inside.

While Teen Titans was one of my favorite shows when I was younger, Teen Titans Go! is honestly not that bad. It's actually really funny, it's just a different kind of show, more comedy than action and that's okay.

TTGO is fine for the target audience, which consists mainly of adolescents and prepubescents who've never really seen the original, and that's fine. It's their show. Most of the hate comes from those of us who grew up with the original, who cheered when Beast Boy finally got a girlfriend, laughed when Cyborg got a virus and ate everything in site, crowed when Starfire beat her sister and remained on earth, felt giddy when we saw Pink Raven, and were absolutely, drop-dead TERRIFIED of what Slade did to Robin, especially the episode when his mask sent the boy into a brutal rendition of the last scene of Fight Club.

Then again, Bronies are a thing, so that mitigates my argument somewhat.

Unpopular opinion inbound: Teen Titans is **** , it's a stereotypical anime with horrible voice actors.

But... It's not an anime, dude. I'll respect your opinion when you know what you're talking about. Sound good?

so you guys who are into comics care to explain cyborgs story, like why is he a cyborg in the first place?
User avatar #25 to #24 - kanatana (05/25/2014) [-]
Very long story short, Vic Stone was a high school student, and his dad worked at S.T.A.R. labs, the place where Superman got some of his tech done. He was in a massive accident there, and his father used experimental technology to save his son's life, turning him into a cyborg, hence the moniker. He wasn't originally a super hero, but the enhancements, super strength, and quick adaptability of some of his tech to turn into weapons took him that way, leading him first to one of the original incarnations of the Teen Titans (after 1986 when the DC universe was revamped, if I remember right) and later in various incarnations of the Justice League, occasionally going back to Titans Tower and teaming up again with his old partners from the day.

Any other questions? I'm not being flippant, I legitimately know most of this **** off the top of my head, and I can answer anything ya need to know faster than you can google it.

does ANYONE know what exactly happened to terra at the end? As in why shes not a stone statue anymore? I watched all the episodes and saw the last one and know that CN cancled the show and didnt get to finish it like planned, but does anyone have a solid explanation? and if someone has the time, can they summarize why she made the decisions she did, like joining slade?

Well, things are not entirely explained in the Teen Titans cartoon storyline. They're hardly explained at all, really. In the cartoon, she was a drifter because her powers, which we don't know how they developed, were hard for her to control and she ended up doing more harm than good wherever she went, and she somehow ended up with slade, who tried to teach her to use her powers while manipulating her constantly to spy on the Titans. In the comic, she was the illegitimate daughter of Markovia, whose royal court performed dangerous and painful experiments on her and her brother (Geo-Force) to try to give them superpowers. She was sent away to avoid scandal, and had to make her way as a mercenary, where she met Slade (Deathstroke in the comics.) Unlike the twisted father-daughter dynamic in the cartoon, comic Terra and Deathstroke banged. A lot. And take into account that he was a grizzled war veteran of at least 40 by then, and she was barely 17. Her romantic relationship with Slade is what twisted her from neutral and trying to scrape by to determinedly evil. Also, in the comics, she died when she had a mental breakdown when Deathstroke's son Jericho, also a Teen Titan, used his powers to possess his father's body and fight her. She went crazy and used her powers to pull the building they were in in on herself. And then she was cloned, and was an entirely new Terra, with no memories or family history. For some reason, that bit didn't make it into the cartoon, and she just turned into a statue and eventually turned back and probably lost her powers and most of her memories.

So. That's what I know.

I know people will hate me for saying this, but I kinda like Teen Titans Go. Don't get me wrong, it is NOTHING like the original, and never will be. If I had to pick which of the 2 to watch, I would go for the original every time. But as what it actually is, a random silly comedy cartoon, it's not too bad. It almost feels like it is parodying itself, which to me is entertaining. It's certainly better than those faggots Clarence and Steven Universe and Uncle Redneck Incest Grandpa or whatever the hell else Cartoon Network shows kids these days.

And now we are stuck with teen titan's go which is nothing but subpar comedy and hidden sexual references.

I think TTGO is alright, it's kinda funny. Then again I never saw Teen Titans tried watching it but got only half way into season 1 when I stopped for no reason.

unfortunately we most likley wont see a serious teen titans show as d.c gave them the axe.
