5:01 mins and the thing stops

Why the heck did the guy rip off his finger nail?

And who on earth sails on the open sea with no floating vest? And why the heck did the other guy just sail off?

This terrible terrible thing has left me with way more questions than whatever else was supposed to happen.

Well I can only imagine the thing is done, it jumped from full to the bottom within a second and it was impossible to raise it.

I'll give it a go some other time with a mouse that just continues to roll in super speeds, plus turning up the amount of scrolling pages it does.

Yeah but it would kind of ruin the point of your hand getting more and more exhausted it adds to the feel of the guy getting tired in the water

My mouse wheel is really rough, so it was impossible to do it with the normal way of scrolling.

So i decided to see how far I could get.

I just can't help to feel that natural selection won in the end, and there is a reason why you're supposed to wear a life jacket.

But I see your point.

I managed 5 minutes and 50 seconds using a combination of up-arrow key and scroll. Since the arrow key works like scrolling within the "Drowning Simulator 2014", I'm going to try and download a program that simulates a key being pressed repeatedly and see how long the guy can go on when he doesn't get tired.

FOR SCIENCE!

Hmm..... That means a simple macro that presses "UP" 100 times a second should be able to get quite far....

Please tell me your results when you're done

I had some difficulty finding a program that would run, but I managed.

I did some testing wherein I set it to press op every 500 ms (0.5 seconds) but around the time he ditches the shoes, it began stalling and could no longer keep up with the task (over 10 seconds) and failed between the 5-6 minute mark, making me think that it gets more and more difficult the further you get.

I've yet to run further tests since, well to begin with I didn't know if you were interested, and it is rather jarring seeing someone drown from first person perspective without interacting (whereas when I scroll I feel like I'm helping him, probably the intend of the advertisement).

At some point - which you've probably noted - he starts hallucinating when not drowning. At one point he sees a small motor boat almost next to him, thinking he is saved, but almost immediately it vanishes prompting him to cry out some more.

Gonna go ahead and run a test with 250 ms. Let's see if we can break the 6 minute mark, but there has to be some limit for how long he swims, though they might just refuse film clips.

That just goes to show what Frenchies are useful for (even more so that he keep yelling "putain" - whore - but it keeps getting translated to **** and **** in the subtitles).

I think I remember wrong about how long he lasted at 500 ms, he probably lasted longer than the shoes, but I'm not sure.

Just ran it at 250 ms, around the time he hallucinates a scuba diver it begins stalling, and stalled through the church hallucination, and he drowns within 30 seconds of hallucinating the boat, though luckily he did realise it was a hallucination before drowning, otherwise: Bad End.

Going to try setting it at 100 ms this time, and after that 50 ms. Maybe then 10 ms. I doubt my laptop can handle that, so I'll run the test on another computer.

Al right, just ran it at 100 ms.

This time it didn't stall, it just began going down surprisingly quickly all of a sudden.

Time mark?

5:50 - my original time, where I experienced the same sensation of suddenly being pulled down.

Taking a break to eat dinner.

Hugebulliest you asked for my conclusion when I was done. I just ran it through with the lowest setting I could.

5:51 with 50 ms and same with 1 ms, though when he drowned the drowning indicator showed that he was still swimming. So my conclusion is that we aren't supposed to get past the 6 minutes mark.

I hope that helps.

And I regret nothing, time well spent.

Now we just need to tell OP - fjaggot - that if he spends more than 5 minutes and 50 seconds in the ocean, he instantly dies regardless of how well he swims.

Unless he has a life-vest of course.

Hahahaha

Okey, we know you can survive maximum 5 minutes and 50 minutes at sea without a life vest, now I want a simulation on how long you can survive with a vest.

And then after that i want one for surviving on a raft.

Then stranded on an island.

finding a volleyball.

ALPHA-RELEASE BETA-PATCH 0.2.0.3 HAS BEEN RELEASED
Some players complained to us about the drowning feature being inaccessible, which it was. But we weren't satisfied with the amount of money it generated the way it worked, so we decided to postpone it. It is now accessible to all those who have brought the Greenlight Pre-order Alpha Mountain-Dew Edition and will be made available to the other players once we know exactly how much money we can make from it eventually.

It works this way, for every level your avatar is (not your account), you can drown 1+(X*0.1) times a day (X being your avatar's level). So at level one you can drown once a day while at level 100 you can drown 11 times a day. For the mere price of 0.99$/0.72€ you can however recharge it with 10% of one energy-unit.

The energy-units is the unit that denounces amount of times you can drown a day so it is a simple and consistent system.

So don't forget, pay for your Greenlight Pre-order Alpha Mountain-Dew Edition today for the price of merely 99.99$ and a gallon of your first born son's blood.

-The Dev Team.
