I was asked one day why I make these posts.
And the answer is simple
to create hope
The next question then would logically be; why create hope?
I mean at face value hope seems like a silly thing to cultivate.
It produces no fruit.
It fathers no children.
It does not bring rain to dry ground.
It will not defend you.
And most of all, it rarely brings the producer any returns, despite their endless toil.
But let a producer of hope give their two cents on the matter.
Hope is defined as the desire for certain things to happen.
During difficult times hope gives us something to hold onto.
And during good times hope gives us something to strive for.
Hope gives us something to believe in.
It gives belief that things will get better.
That no matter the situation we will endure to see brighter days.
It is sometimes a vain thing.
A thing that defies reason even.
But it's an important thing.
For without hope, there would be nothing to believe in.
This is not to say that things wouldn’t get done.
But life would become like a black hole; consuming you until you are gone.
For without the light of hope there is nothing to live for.
No desire to get up in the morning with a smile, and greet a world waiting for you.
Because what’s the point.
Nothing will change if you do and nothing can get better by doing it.
Without hope there is only depression.
And after living a long time with only that I discovered I needed hope.
And finding a world so filled with depression
I decided to create hope, while hoping that it will drive myself and others to create more things.
So that one day we can escape all of this suffering and be happy.
It is a vain hope but a hope none the less.
Hopefully one day we'll get there.
