Did you know?: America has the best health care in the world because it isn't free, it's expensive as **** , but I'd rather pay for premium healthcare then get it for free in Canada, where they have some of the worst Health care in the modernized world.

Let me give you a few examples then to prove my case, seeing as we've established a bit of an "argumentative" setting:

1: America has the most preemptive cancer screening, in fact we're beating Canada on nearly all measures of preventive cancer screening.

2: Highest rate of cancer survival. This has to do with high GDP-per-capita in the U.S., which provides for expensive cancer treatments.

3: Most advanced equipment per capita. To put it bluntly, America is kicking ass in MRI units per million in population standards.

4: Simple one, highest pay attracts best doctors. High pay = better work conditions = higher quality workers. This is simple mathematics.

5: If you have the money, U.S health care is non-pariel. Basically, you get what you pay for. If you're a middle class citizen you get access to the highest quality network of hospitals, specialists, and technology.

6: If you are injured by malpractice, you can sue like a ************ . This is an obvious one.

7: Most advanced research. American hospitals perform far-and-away the most clinical tests, according to the NYT. There's also this chart of the most important recent medical innovations floating around the internet.

The payoff for patients in America is immediate access to advanced information and medicine.

I've never understood the whole "free healthcare" argument. You still have to pay for the healthcare through taxes. The only difference is it is mandatory whether or not you have a medical condition. So to some, that could be considered worse. But no matter your opinion on it, it's definitely not free. Like... at all.

There's some things you fail to understand about our taxes. If you make under 40k a year you get all of the taxes you've paid over the year back during tax time. So for lower income people that's a huge bonus. Technically then everything the government provides is free for those people. And any health care related expenses you incur not paid for by some kind of healthcare is Tax Deductable.
Then, if you're in the higher tax brackets i suppose you could be paying for it in a technical sense. But everyone uses it enough to get their money's worth.

Doctor's Appointments are free. As in you go into the Clinic, show your health card, have to wait (Unless you made an appointment prior), then see the doctor. No charge.
Hospital Visits are Free. Ambulance services do cost money unless you have ANY level of health insurance. And you're lying if you say you've never been to the Hospital.
MRI's and CatScans are Free (With a Doctor made appointment)
Specialist Appointments are Free (With a Doctor's Referral). This one's big for me. I have to see a Neurologist every 6 months. Government pays for that. I don't even see a bill. Same with the MRI's. Every 6 months.
Prescription Drugs are severely reduced in price and in most cases are 80% covered by the government health Insurance (Here it's blue cross, $68 a month) which, and this is the important part, ANYONE CAN GET. Prior medical conditions, health history, family history, doesn't ******* matter. Everyone is entitled.

So, Based on my Experience with Medical **** I am incredibly happy that I am in Canada, when my medication is $2,300 a month and I have to get regular MRI's and see a Neurologist more often then a regular doctor. I would be drowning in Debt otherwise.
