I wanted to get this game, but I heard it's got long load times on console. Inb4 PC Master Race, I use both and my PC's too ****** to play newer games.
I had the game on PS4 and yeah the load times were terrible, mostly because you have to load in between each challenge and story mission segment. it gets kind of tedious when you keep failing a challenge or want to redo it for more points because the wait is pretty long. but on another note the game is really fun the graphics are good and the island is awesome to explore and its fun to dick around with explosives and **** . all in all id say get it on sale if you are still worried but id say its well worth $60
PC mustard rice here When it first came out it loaded really fast for me and then they released some big update and it takes like 15 minutes each time i start up the game now, it's super annoying
the update was meant to speed up the loading also, but it just slowed it down for some reason
The initial loading time is ridiculous and even then it lags a bit. after the first load it isnt so bad and it only ever even needs to load between challenges and story missions so it's not a huge problem. The game has its issues but I would reccomend it

If you are thinking on the first scene you encounter when starting up the game (Rico laying in a sunbed with a towel with the square enix logo) it is not even a loading screen (it seems). A PC mod have made the scene skippable (makes the player log into the servers at the start at cut scene, rather than waiting 15 or so seconds, shortening the boot time by 2/3 of vanilla. Kinda stupid that this mod had to be developed. Like it should have been like this from the start.
Another thing that bugged me when i first played it was the fov (really small in vanilla), luckily a mod fixes this too.
the final thing however is maybe the worst.; the ******* handling of vehicles. man jesus. Its terrible. the turn-radius of the wheels of most land vehicles is not instant! Meaning the more you hold down the key the more the vehicle turns overtime, and then it TAKES TIME FOR THE WHEEL TO RETURN TO THE NEUTRAL POSITION making the vehicle continue the turn even after you have released the ******* key, making the handling incoherently clunky , unresponsive, and unpredictable. This is of course not true with every vehicle, but man.. that got me so riled up.. big difference when coming form gta5.
How the hell does it have more content? With 50 hours I did every single thing except like 4 vehicles in the garage, and had attained about 70% of the gears. With about the same time in 2 I barely have 50%.
"Content" in Just Cause 2 outside of the story is equal to finding some stupid collectibles that barely affected the game, some mediocre races, and chaos objects that were considerably harder to find with the limited map. Not to mention how these would take much longer to do due to lack of firepower and travel speed, which was a non-issue in JC3.
Here's a list of things Just Cause 2 had that Just Cause 3 didn't have:
- A sprint button
- Pointless health upgrades
- Pointless vehicle upgrades
- Pointless gun upgrades
- An economy that put a damper on gameplay
Here's a list of things Just Cause 3 has that Just Cause 2 didn't have:
- Tanks
- Bomber planes
- Tethering with force
- Challenges that weren't races
- Ability to collect every vehicle
- Collectibles that unlock things
- Upgradable equipment
- A wingsuit
- Bavarium weaponry and vehicles
- Mario ******* Frigo
Of course, there are also general improvements to physics, variety and graphics, but those are to be expected.
I loved the **** out of Just Cause 2, but apart from the Air-Propulsion gun, there isn't anything I miss from Just Cause 2. A lot of the games are somewhat tedious activities, with the only difference that they take considerably less time in JC3.
It is a better game, but my biggest gripe is what they did with the parachute in 3.
In 2, you can close your parachute the instant you open it, while in 3 you have to wait 2 or so seconds before you can close it again. So in 2, I would grapple on foot, and right before I reach the spot I would double tap spacebar and be launched high in the air while maintaining my momentum. Even if you like 3 a lot more for it's improvements, if you just want to go off of hard numbers 2 has a lot more stuff. One small example is 2 had over 300 settlements, while 3 only has 130.
Those aren't tanks, they are armored vehicles. But fair enough, let's assume they are; they were not prevalent in the game. You can get to Heat Level 5 and they still never show up. The Razorback can be bought, but at the expense of cash, and it's not a very useful vehicle overall.
As for the parachute, you can say what you want, but the Wingsuit takes away the need for that "momentum boost".
And areas =/= content. Just Cause 2 had 300 settlements with nothing to do with, Just Cause 3 had 130 that actually held some usefulness. Just Cause 2 loses in how little there is to actually do, apart from just flying around and shooting people. Something that is very much prevalent in JC3.
Why would you say that? Also, I wouldn't agree with other guys above **** talking the game, I liked it and I felt it was worth my money but 2 has way more collectibles/ chaos objects to destroy, etc
With what? It's not subjective to say that it has more content, another example is 2 has 3000 collectibles not including bridge limbos, and I'm fairly certain 3 has less than 300
It was ******* awful. It panders to those who have fun doing the most pointless and gimmicky stuff. I played it for about 2 hours before being bored as hell.
Great game. So hard to play on console tho. game drops to like 15 frames when you start blowing loads of **** up. im going to buy it again when I get a gaming pc
If open world random **** is your style...go for it. The story is about as shallow as it gets (legit got through it within a week) and liberating provinces gets repetitive. I got it just for the nonsensical sandbox world I wanted GTA 5 to be. It's super unpunishing, vehicles are free, some of the weapon upgrades are legit (like thrusters on the planted explosives). After beating the game fully, I just use it as a way to chill now.
