I've gotten several comments about this, but SpaceWars wasn't the first computer game (it is however the first digital computer game) there where two games before it.
The games were 'OXO' (tick-tac-toe) made in 1952, and 'Tennis for two' which made in 1958. Both worked on analog systems.

Oh, if anyone is wondering why I said "Subscribe for more comics and comps", it's because I'm also making comics.
Grabbing other people's art styles and making stuff with it. If you like what you see, you should subscribe, and check out my future posts.

It may seem trivial now, but back then the invention of the mouse and especially the principle of a mouse cursor probably took some really out-of-the-box thinking. The idea of the cursor, a virtual extension of your hand on the screen, is kind of cool and awesome to me.

qwertyqaz came from typewriters, where more frequently used keys had to be seperated in order to stop the stamps from jamming because of the key's 'arms' hitting each other.

Just learned a little bit today on the CD beams. Apparently in Audiology we use that technology for Hearing Aids (since we convert sound to digital and measure it and yadda yadda to basically map out your hearing wavelengths to fit the hearing aid specifically for you). Putting sound on CDs (like songs) is basically the same thing, taking natural acoustic sound and converting it to digital for the storage. Sorry, I got excited and felt like sharing...

Nice use of the qwerty keyboard row to break up the facts.

My father worked on the first computer at the University of Calgary, and is possibly the smartest man i know when it comes to technology.

But he still needs help pausing a youtube video.

Couldn't have asked for a better dad
The 2.52 GB comp made me feel like I should post this. Apologies for the irrelevancy

I could be wrong, but isn't that "HVD" thing how a dual layer DVD works?
User avatar #51 to #48 - radkait (04/16/2014) [-]
Not exactly, a dual layer DVD uses a red laser, the laser accesses the second layer by shining through the first semi-transparent layer, and this change can take up to several seconds.
While with HVDs, there's both a green and red laser collimated in a single beam. And HVDs can potentially store up to 6TB.

Or people could just go and google it themselves. It really ain't that hard. Plus I don't want to put a long ass list in the description or the comments.

Space war was not the first game sorry mate
It was Tennis for Two it was made in 1958
User avatar #36 to #31 - malacrianza (04/16/2014) [-]
To be fair, OP stated "digital computer game". Tennis for Two was completely analog.
User avatar #17 - naruske (04/16/2014) [+] (2 replies)
Video game is wrong. The first one was in 1958 and it was tennis for two
