If we wash our cars its a $500 fine. But apparently large golf courses get to use as much water as they want.

I live in Britain. We probably stole all of your water and used it for rain.

Living in Michigan, droughts are just funny to me. I mean yeah, we have Detroit, but we also have more freshwater than we know what to do with.

"We have Detroit, but"

Let me stop you right there.

is it like a drought every year (like the tide or something), a drought that happened once, or water getting less and less over the years...?

California =/= America. Their culture and politics are entirely different from the rest of the country. They try to be "enlightened" and liberal like Europe, but they have a horrible education system, so they suck at it. The end result is basically a wannabe Sweden with down syndrome. All of the negative points of being ultra liberal (lack of personal freedom, sky high taxes, censorship, and idiotic public works projects), with none of the good sides like a world class education or health system, or income equality.

Its even worse with the city ordinances, we can only water our lawns twice a week, on designated days according to your address, the pay people to drive around and issue citations if you are watering on the wrong day or wrong time of day, if there is evidence or they catch you washing your car. Get this **** though, this is the real mind blower, they once sent me a printout of my water usage one week and it showed how much water I had used and a run down by the hour how much water I was using, this came along with a fine. I called these ***** because part of the process is that they have to submit proof, by photo that you are abusing the water. I had my family visiting from out of state, all 3 bathrooms being used, slip and slide in the back yard and other **** . told them this but still had to pay the fine, first time was like $40. wtf

Yeah yeah yeah, at least you haven't been in a ******* drought for the last ten god-damn years. I haven't been able to make s'mores in 6 years because there's been a burn ban in effect.

Well look at the bright side. You have more hills now and sweet free hanging bridges.
