just because you know how to do something, doesnt mean you can actually do it.
#86 to #3 - amuzen ONLINE (11/24/2015) [-]
well just because you know everything doesn't nessecarily mean you know how to use that knowledge effectively to get end results. You would know whether or not someone else has become omni potent, and what method they had used, but you wouldn't nessecarily know exactly how to reproduce the results because you becoming a god isn't something that currently exists and you only hold information that is true not potentially true.

>You would know the method to become omnipotent
>You wouldn't necessarily know how to reproduce it
>Even though you know everything
News flash, friendo. If you don't know how to reproduce it, you don't know everything. Hence, if you know everything, you know how to become omnipotent, and how to do so within your means. Unless it's impossible to become omnipotent at all. Then you're ****** .

TL;DR: Omnisapience = Omnipotence
#98 to #94 - amuzen ONLINE (11/25/2015) [-]
there might not be a straight forward way to reproduce it, you could know how everything had to align in order for it to happen the first time but not properly understand how to align everything together again so as to make it possible a second time. You also might just straight up lack the resources or circumstances required to make it happen.

Listen here you little cock sucker, you may think that your "smart" little comment was funny, guess again ass hat.
You have no idea what trouble you have started, and you will regret it soon.
I work for the N. S. ******* A, and Ive gathered your info from your Ip address. Hell fire is going to rain down on you, and you will be screaming for my mercy, but guess what? Your cries will fall on deaf ears.
I bet you jerk off to gay lolicon pony porn.
You just signed your death warrant, and I am going to execute it.
I've tracked you down, and have put in false internet history from your IP.
You are the new Jared, have fun being arrested for child porn charges. Once you get out, you will have to watch your back contantly, looking for me.
But once you let your guard down, you will be executed in the most painful way possible.
You're ******* done for ********* .

Since she knows all things and doesn't know that, it implies that isn't possible.

Technically, knowledge of how to do something doesn't equate to ability to do it.

You might know exactly what contraption you must build in order to lift a gate, but that does not mean you will be strong enough to lift the gear to make it.
User avatar #19 to #14 - heartlessrobot (11/24/2015) [-]
If you know everything, you know how to achieve omnipotence through rhythmic clapping.
It can be completely ridiculous and you still know it, because it goes under everything.
User avatar #25 to #19 - captainfuckitall ONLINE (11/24/2015) [-]
Not necessarily. That's like saying you know how to get rid of gravity for everyone ever by dropping a feather.

You have achieved a state of "all knowing", but that doesn't mean EVERYTHING is possible. You wouldn't have an answer to a paradox, for example, because there is no answer. Likewise, there is no way to get rid of all gravity on Earth via dropping a feather on the ground plainly.

knowing everything is pretty much the definition of omnipotence.

Reductio ad absurdum, or 'reduction to absurdity'. You guys could argue all day long about what's impossible and what's not, you wouldn't get anywhere. The point is we don't know, we can't know until we find out in future what's possible and what's not.

Because we're all still expanding our collective knowledge. It is possible that at some point in distant future, entire humanity could become omnipotent beings. It's just so beyond our understanding right now that all we can do now is imagine and guess.

“The universe is big. It’s vast and complicated and ridiculous. And sometimes, very rarely, impossible things just happen and we call them miracles.”
#15 to #4 - artimax (11/24/2015) [-]
You would also know how to make impossible things possible
#23 to #15 - anon (11/24/2015) [-]
That logic is retarded, I know every single colour in the world, yet I cannot see another colour can I? Knowing everything doesn't make the impossible possible.
User avatar #26 to #23 - artimax (11/24/2015) [-]
But you would be able to make glasses that allow you to see another colour if you knew everything.

My point is you can't know literally everything
User avatar #18 to #15 - thesovereigngrave (11/24/2015) [-]
Or, alternatively, know that there's no way to make them possible.
User avatar #20 to #18 - heartlessrobot (11/24/2015) [-]
Except if you know everything, you know how to make the impossible, possible, because that falls under everything.
User avatar #21 to #20 - thesovereigngrave (11/24/2015) [-]
Except if it's actually impossible. Because then even if you know everything it's not possible to know how to make it possible, since you just can't.
User avatar #22 to #21 - heartlessrobot (11/24/2015) [-]
When we're talking "literally everything", there is no such thing as "completely impossible".
#24 to #22 - anon (11/24/2015) [-]
Yes there is, knowing how everything works doesn't make you able to make everything possible. You may know all there is to biology, chemistry, physics and your cells would still need oxygen to burn, that isn't going to change even if you know everything.
#27 to #24 - anon (11/24/2015) [-]
Dude, nothing is impossible. If someone knew everything, they would know a way to prevent their cells from needing to burn oxygen.
#6 to #4 - anon (11/24/2015) [-]
But you don't know if it's impossible or not, now do you?
