I never understood why games only let you have 1 attachment. Like IRL you can have as many as you want. I mean you could a grip scope, laser, flashlight, and a bayonet all attached at once, they aren't mutually exclusive.
#17 to #16 - anon (01/11/2016) [-]
It's called balancing you autist
User avatar #22 to #17 - rakogoki (01/11/2016) [-]
like in real life it could just make your weapon heavier, making you run and aim slower with it.
#19 to #17 - turbanmasher (01/11/2016) [-]
Yea but they don't really do all that much, and a lot of them have downsides. In real life every attachment has a downside.
#24 to #19 - anon (01/11/2016) [-]
"in real life attachments have downsides" If there was a downside then why would you ever use them? I'm no gun expert but I'm pretty sure if there was even the slightest hindrance people wouldn't use them and don't say they make the gun heavier and harder to handle, of course it makes the gun heavier that's a given.
#26 to #24 - turbanmasher (01/11/2016) [-]
Alright son buckle up.
A scope, advantage: see further, disadvantage: less fov.

Silencer, Advantage: Less noise. Disadvanges: Less muzzle velocity and energy, Longer gun makes maneuvering harder, Gun has to be tuned to cycle using less pressure.

Flashlight A: lets you see in dark. D: Makes you visible.

Laser. (pretty useless since any good shooter aims down sights) A: lets you see where your barrel is pointed. D: Can alert enemy to your presence.

Grip A: Can improve handling and recoil. D: gets in the way, can snag on clothing/environment.

Magazine extensions/Magpul Loops/Magazine Doublers: A:Increase rounds in magazine, allows better manipulation of magazine, quickers reloads. D: More weight, snag on environment.

Bayonet: Increased melee range D: weight on the end of barrel.

You can't ignore weight because a heavier gun is harder to shoulder, and you can't aim as long. It's also make the gun harder/slower to handle. Weights of things like lasers, grips, and flashlights are negligible, but ammo is heavy, and weight near the barrel counts as a lot more.

*Supressor
Reduces muzzle report as well
#38 to #31 - turbanmasher (01/11/2016) [-]
Good point it is suppressor, but silencer still works. I prefer calling it a silencer just because you also have flash suppressors. Which reminds me

Flash suppressor/Muzzle Breaks A: potentially less muzzle flash, potentially less felt recoil. D: Lengthens barrel, small weight on end of barrel.

Good pro/con system tho 10/10 innawoods operator or nerf master
#63 to #54 - turbanmasher (01/12/2016) [-]
Pretty much just a paper puncher. But I do have most of these attachments, other than a suppressor (due to legal issues) and bayonet.

My point is that most attachments have downsides.

#65 to #64 - turbanmasher (01/12/2016) [-]
M14 (M305) Which is a 14 lb heavy ass bastard. Ar15s are a hassle to own up here, due to them being treated as a handgun. Have a few other guns but nothing fancy. the M14 is the only thing with mounts.

#75 to #73 - turbanmasher (01/12/2016) [-]
Ah. No ak sadly. I do have an 870 though. Other than that my other guns aren't well known. No handguns either, handguns are a pain in the ass in Canuckland.
User avatar #76 to #75 - prozacjellybeans ONLINE (01/12/2016) [-]
You can't even own a handgun, save for target shooting, where I live. It's silly
#77 to #76 - turbanmasher (01/12/2016) [-]
That's how it works here, well you can own them for a collection, but you have to prove you collect them. Other then that you have to get an authorization to transport (ATT) whenever you want to take it somewhere. You can get an ATT that lets you take it to/from the range to your house anytime.
Where you from?
User avatar #52 to #38 - prozacjellybeans ONLINE (01/11/2016) [-]
Muzzle Brake, releases exhaust gases in a more balanced manner, preventing unpredictable recoil.

Flash Supressor, does what it says on the box at the expense of muzzle velocity.

Weight doesn't play a huge part in either of these. The supressor certainly has a bit of weight to it, but hey, you're dealing with some fairly hefty rifles upon which it's frequently deployed
User avatar #68 to #26 - vacillantfall (01/12/2016) [-]
I was expecting something autist like, but you made some really good points . I was pleased reading this and thanks to it, I now have realization of perks/cons of attachments. Never came to mind to think about.
#69 to #68 - turbanmasher (01/12/2016) [-]
It's not 100% but because there's a wide variety of attachments it's good enough for the casual observer. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.

CoD's shooting mechanics are bar none, but how is the campaign and stuff?

Is it copy-pasted, or actually something new?
#50 to #33 - gagnine (01/11/2016) [-]
Campaign is ******* amazing. Dives into how technology in the far future could **** with our minds and change someone so much that they aren't really them any more. DNI abilities allow you to control the field, use enemy tools against them, and cause chaos. The full loadout customization allows you to choose your play style and makes it very replayable. 4 player campaign lets you and your friends to own the battle with different styles and abilities.
TL,DR: 5/7
#61 to #50 - improbablyyourdad (01/12/2016) [-]
Wow, I didn't think people like you actually existed, its like you started playing video games last year and have zero standards.
#79 to #61 - gagnine (01/12/2016) [-]
I like COD because it's similar every year. I can buy it with an idea if how it plays and can jump into it with little risk. I know the game I'm buying every year and I won't be disappointed.
User avatar #51 to #50 - tenaciouslee (01/11/2016) [-]
How long is it, though?
#55 to #51 - gagnine (01/11/2016) [-]
Depends on how much of a scrub you are and what difficulty you play on. I'll admit to bring a COD fanboy and getting pretty good at it, but paying on regular took me a few hours. Co-op makes it pretty replayable.
User avatar #57 to #55 - tenaciouslee (01/11/2016) [-]
>a few hours.

Well, it's not worth my time.

I'm a scrub when it comes to multiplayer, and I have no one to co-op with because I'm a friendless loser I don't play online all that often, so yeah.

Well, thanks for filling me in.
#59 to #57 - gagnine (01/11/2016) [-]
Still got zombies, can't argue with that. Also nightmares, campaign with zombies as enemies is pretty dull IMO but I'll give them credit for creating a whole new campaign without any new missions or cut scenes.
User avatar #60 to #59 - tenaciouslee (01/11/2016) [-]
That might be true, but I'd have no reason in picking up BO3 unless there was a game coming out at the end of a weekend, and I wanted something to kill time with.

User avatar #44 to #36 - falconet (01/11/2016) [-]
singleplayer is 4 player co op, i havent touched it i heard it was pretty decent for a CoD
User avatar #45 to #44 - tenaciouslee (01/11/2016) [-]
I'm assuming it's traditional 30 minute long campaign like most CoDs?
User avatar #46 to #45 - falconet (01/11/2016) [-]
no idea, but i know there are 2 campaigns though. One is normal the other is a zombie version or something like that, its separate from zombies.
User avatar #47 to #46 - tenaciouslee (01/11/2016) [-]
Wow, Activision and whatever other company made this game might've actually given lease to the story instead of the usual "Call of Poo in Loo 28: Just Multiplayer me up, Fam 2016." that comes out every year.
User avatar #74 - notenoughtortillas (01/12/2016) [-]
wow dude looking at these comments Fj isn't hating on CoD everytime it's mentioned which is weird since we're usually on the CoD hate bandwagon. I personally think Black Ops 3 is a really good game
