majiruana is actually the most dangerous drug from a scientific standpoint as its highly addictive and the more you use it the worse you die

i dont have a source this is just from a scientific standpoint

majiuana makes you die the more you use it, if youre addicted it makes you use it more, which makes you die harder

thats basically the logic im going with

Half-Baked. Probably my favorite stoner movie ever made. I watched this **** religiously back in middle school/early high school. So many classics in this one, like the picture above.

Bodega Owner to Dave Chappelle when he tries to buy weed from them: Black ass! Why you no show me your ass earlier?
Half Baked-Hey Black Ass

John Stewart from before he was on the Daily Show as some stereotypical stoner: You ever looked the back of a $20 bill? Ever looked at the back of a $20 bill... ON WEED?
Jon Stewart - Enhancement Smoker (Half Baked)

Cuban guy quitting his job: **** you, **** you, **** you, you're cool, **** you (throws hamburger at some guys face), I'm out.
Half Baked: Scarface quits his job

THEY KILLED KILLER B!!!

So stupid now that I look back on it, but so ******* funny. Gotta watch that movie again, haven't seen it in easily ten years.

Weed is addictive. I was addicted and it was really hard to cut out.
My boyfriend is still addicted. He has no money ever, and this **** is ruining his life. He lost a really good job because of it, and had to sell his Xbox because he had no weed. He's very aware that he's addicted to the stuff, but he can't function without it. He stopped it after his lung collapsed a couple of years back, but soon went back on it.
The people who claim that weed is a miracle drug with no short-comings are either deluded or having been smoking the **** long enough to realize how bad it gets.
User avatar #55 to #39 - keatontheghostfox (12/20/2015) [-]
The real question is why are you still with him?
User avatar #57 to #55 - kegget (12/20/2015) [-]
Because I love him. Because I'm not going to throw away 10 years for him being human . I'm not perfect either, so why would I expect him to be?
He's getting help now, he's spoken to his doctor about it. He's aware of his problem and I'm helping him through it. Would you leave someone as soon as they get a personal problem instead of helping them?
User avatar #59 to #57 - keatontheghostfox (12/20/2015) [-]
If they were addicted to something so bad that they lost their job and had to sell their belongings to get more of it, yes.

User avatar #63 to #60 - keatontheghostfox (12/20/2015) [-]
Honestly it's the smart thing to do, if you have been dating for 10 years I'm gonna assume he's atleast 25? If that's true he's 25+ and smokes so much weed that he lost his job and is selling stuff, not to get food either, but to buy more weed. Honestly that's pathetic.
User avatar #65 to #63 - kegget (12/20/2015) [-]
He has another job now, as well as getting a degree. Selling his stuff was years ago, I was trying to make a point of how **** weed is.

To get food? We ain't living in poverty or anything. He just never has money to go out and do fun **** very often.
User avatar #68 to #65 - keatontheghostfox (12/20/2015) [-]

User avatar #71 to #68 - kegget (12/20/2015) [-]
I'll admit, I was at one point. But I helped him get back on track and we're doing pretty good.

Also he's gone from spending 200 pounds a week on weed to 80. Which doesn't sound like much, but it's progress.

Things can change if you just give people a little understanding and a ******* chance to get better.

You don't know what you're talking about.
I could tell you from experience that marijuana isn't physically addictive but don't trust me. Use your google since you're on the internet and educated yourself a little.

It's pretty obvious you're a liar and a poser because anyone that's smoked weed knows for a fact it's not addictive. You've never even smoked it before.
User avatar #73 to #66 - ericr (12/20/2015) [-]
Post a link to the scientific study confirming that marijuana contains physically addictive chemicals. You can't because there isn't one. The best you can find are anti marijuana .gov sights claiming studies "suggest" pot "may" in some cases be addictive for a small % of people but not to the degree other drugs are. It reads like an Ed McMahon publisher's clearinghouse junk mail. "Your name has been picked and you are definitely a possible winner".
User avatar #81 to #73 - bodeejus (12/21/2015) [-]
Woops, nevermind. Just read more of the comments (I'm working so I didn't check) they seem misinformed.
User avatar #77 to #73 - bodeejus (12/21/2015) [-]
I don't think kegget means to say that weed is super addictive to anyone or that most people can be addicted to weed. There are two different types of addiction. Physical, and habitual. Kegget must have a boyfriend who is one of the few unlucky to be habitually addicted to weed. It's not very common, but it does happen to a select few people. If you have addictive tendencies, sometimes weed can become a habitual addiction to some.
User avatar #85 to #77 - ericr (12/21/2015) [-]
True, anything can become a habit. Maybe I read a little too much into her post.
I spent my teen years and most of my 20's....researching, lol. Either way it's an easy thing to shake off. For me the most awkward part of the break was the social side of it. It's what my friends and I did. There is a definite social pattern that can center around the weed.
User avatar #110 to #85 - bodeejus (12/21/2015) [-]
Yeah, I never felt "addicted" to weed, and I even have an addictive personality (I smoke cigarettes and bite my nails...) but I have easily been able to take breaks from weed and will skip days and weeks of doing it, just to take a tolerance break. Plus I never spend more that 10-20 dollars every two weeks on it, and that's sharing with my boyfriend. Since I've started smoking 6 years ago, I've actually smoked less and less.
User avatar #111 to #110 - ericr (12/21/2015) [-]
Your boyfriend? You develop this online relationship with me then drop that bomb on me in a public forum??? We're all done sister. I wash my hands of you.
#76 to #39 - anon (12/21/2015) [-]
I agree with you. Though for the record, it is not a physical addiction that cocaine or other drugs may be.

However, alot of things can be addictive, and hard to stop once you have done it soo many times. Simple things such as chewing ones nails, sex, coffee, coke (softdrink), eating junk food, can be addictive to the point where the person may want to stop, and may need help to do so. And like any real addiction, a relapse, can make it difficult to stop again.
I have seen people lose weight, and relapse, and cannot control themselves.

People dismiss things such as this and dont consider it to be a real addiction, hence it makes it even harder to discuss and seek help. The content above highlights how the world thinks about low level addictions. Why seek help if it leads to public humiliation and embarrassment

My mates all used to smoke weed. Only 1 of them came to the point where they felt they couldn't face life without being high. It was not a physical addiction, (like other drugs are), more like a mental addiction. Sure, they could quit anytime they wanted, but they felt they could not handle life without it and it took them along time to overcome their problems and quit.

everything is addicting.
because addiction can be in the mind just as much as in the body.
yes i know about chemicals which do cause addiction.
User avatar #43 to #39 - theugandanhero (12/20/2015) [-]
Just remember, the addiction to marijuana is all in one's head. Of course if you get too comfortable with it you're going to get attachment issues.
User avatar #49 to #43 - kegget (12/20/2015) [-]
Our body is literally full of cannabinoid receptors which THC passes though. It's chemically addictive.
User avatar #91 to #49 - alarubra (12/21/2015) [-]

#48 to #39 - arrakasi (12/20/2015) [-]
other dude is right, weed isnt a chemical addiction its a mental one, unlike things like meth and smoking.

me and the other half were in the same boat, we stopped, but even now if a mate gives me some weed, ill just smoke till its gone, no self control when it comes to pot. But its still alot easier to kick than smoking, trust me on that one.

your mind can get addicted to anything, i have friends that are addicted to the Gym, if they dont go every day, they feel physically ill, or actually get sick if its a couple of days straight.
if your not BSing, best bet for your boyfriend, save a bit of $$, dont tell him obviously, take him pretty much anywhere that he cant get weed, doesnt matter how you get there, just make sure its a minimum of 1 days travel from his dealer. go to a hotel room for 3-7 days and **** his brains out, im not kidding. only way he will beat this is with help, and the only way to accept it is with a distraction and no access, after that its up to him not to go back.
User avatar #51 to #48 - kegget (12/20/2015) [-]
Nope. I was always known to be mentally addictive, but now there's actual research going into it (around the effects it's cannabinoids have on cancer) it's now widely accepted as a chemically addictive substance in the scientific community. Look it up for yourself.

Getting addicted to the gym is easy. Exercise prompts the release of "happy chemicals" such as serotonin. The release of those hormones is what people are addicted to.
Similar chemicals are released when you hurt yourself too, and that's why self-harming can become addictive.
#53 to #51 - arrakasi (12/20/2015) [-]

User avatar #54 to #53 - kegget (12/20/2015) [-]
Sorry if facts triggered you.
#62 to #54 - arrakasi (12/20/2015) [-]
no, not that, was trying to be helpful via experience, you on the other hand, ran to the internet to backup your theory and give an excuse to someone so you can forgive their shortcomings, eventually you will see that im right, he will either continue smoking weed until it eventually makes you leave, or you will stay and live a mediocre life slaving away a minimum wage jobs to feed his addiction, solely because you dont want to accept that you can do better.

Also, just spotted another reply from you to someone else, yes our body is full of receptors that THC passes through, otherwise it would have no effect on you. the difference between a chemical addiction and a mental addiction isnt that our bodies absorb it, its that a chemical that is truely addictive modifies those receptors, so that the body either struggles or refuses to accept the naturally occurring chemicals those receptors are normally there for.

lets put it this way, its a well known fact that going cold turkey from long term heroin use is not only a bad idea, but can actually kill you. My grandfather quit weed a few years back and he has been smoking since the 60's, he said after about a week or cravings, he was fine. he felt like **** for that week, but it wasn't physically painful.
User avatar #70 to #62 - kegget (12/20/2015) [-]
We're not in minimum wage jobs. He a lab tech and I work in a kennels while I do my veterinary degree. We have a 3-bedroom house so we're equipped to have a baby when we're ready. I'm doing better than most , if not all of the 22 year olds I know.

I'll stick with the experts on this one, and they say it's chemically addictive. That wasn't even my point, my point was that weed can ruin your life regardless of what the 4:20fags say.
