people say coding is hard and looks like a different language well **** that, i think those musical sheets look like an alien language.
>mfw my roommate shows me his sheet music
>hfw he see's me programming.

I play Piano and code and both have different difficulties
#37 to #25 - klowserpok (09/20/2015) [-]
As a musician and a programmer in training, different languages are pretty much as difficult to write in as different styles of music would be

Like, a folk song would be HTML,
Metal would be C
Classical would be writing in machine language code while drunk and/or blindfolded, vid related - Maurice Ravel, Pavane for a Dead Princess
And pop would be making spreadsheets in excel
#54 to #37 - faggotishshit (09/20/2015) [-]
That is amazingly accurate.
#68 to #37 - anon (09/21/2015) [-]
Part of learning to program though is to be able to understand code without the actual code involved, exactly so you can swap between languages without any trouble.

This is fake. The real thing is parody and could never be actually played. There are literally pyramids of notes on that paper, and none of it makes in rhythmic sense. I don't mean it's impossible in a "oh it's so hard" way. I mean that as far as sheet music goes, it's gibberish. Still full of lols if you read through it though

#4 - muffinssnuffims (09/20/2015) [-]
Have any of you ever listened to the whole thing though? The beginning is quite beautiful, and extremely different from what you are probably thinking of.

Similarly, the second half of Ride of the Valkyries is really good and different from what you'd normally think of when somebody mentions it. In fact, do you think about the original Star Wars soundtrack when somebody mentions Ride of the Valkyries? Probably not. But it borrowed heavily from it - just the second half.

More people need to listen to the beginning of the 1812 overture and the end of Ride of the Valkyries.
#103 to #4 - blahred (09/21/2015) [-]
I listen to 1812 Overture almost everyday. It relaxes me. And about the the Star Wars theme song, also something that I noticed is that the Empire's theme song sounds a lot like the Peruvian's military march. Just try it, it sounds really similar.
User avatar #31 to #4 - Hreidmar (09/20/2015) [-]
Well, the Star Wars soundtrack was by John Williams, and he borrowed VERY heavily from all sorts of classical music. The main theme from ET, for instance, is almost directly taken out of Sibelius' 5th symphony, and Star Wars borrows really heavily from Wagner, Dvorak, and some of the other late Romantics.

if you try actually playing this as best as one can read this it just sounds like a retard hitting random chords, most of which don't even sound good at all
#81 to #66 - brokenankle (09/21/2015) [-]
the majority of these aren't even chords and don't make sense at all. what are you on about
User avatar #83 to #81 - fazbearxplain (09/21/2015) [-]
the notes are on the lines therefore they can be played, and some are chords but still are close enough to be played in succession to each other however you're right, most of them aren't chords, but still if you try playing this you're gonna look like an autist who thinks he knows how to piano

Listen to Beethoven's Tchaikovsky: Symphony Nº 4 OP 36 - Herbert Von Karajan WPO symphony no.7. It's fluid it starts out timid and maintains that **** throughout, it's uniform it's organized it sounds like it's moving forward. It has a formal structure. Now listen to Tchaikovsky's symphony no.4 and right out of the ******* bat that **** hits hard then it goes timid and mixes this **** throughout, and when you're listening to that **** it sounds like some magical type **** , like literally imagine **** flying and ******* each other up while listening to this **** . Romantic music is supposed to give that spiritual magical feeling with a story that goes everywhere, while classical is uniformal and has a straightforward story.
#80 to #51 - OtisMcWonderful (09/21/2015) [-]
Romantic is classical. It's just not the actual classical period.
