It is because in the german language we do not use the y often but we use z a lot, so it is more usefull like that
also this is called the qwertz keyboard and is allways forgotten because of it's similarity to the qwerty keyboard... Try playing a game when the game gets confused between y and z...

the key board should keep the lights on for like 2 seconds every time theyre pushed and accumulate time... that way, when theyre still on after you've gone to bed, you know you need to stop playing or just get better at microing
