Deadpool better have some emotions other than "chimichanga" and "killing spree" otherwise this movie is going to be one-dimensional fanservice like the video game.
I sincerely hope so. Deadpool is one of those characters that I actually enjoy, but don't admit it because of the reputation that some of his "fans" give him.
the video game had it's deeper moments.
this doesn't seem even like it and the last scene sort of pissed me off, this is the strong independent woman character they're rolling with, fine.
i agree but im not actually gonna be that mad if that is the case. i can imagine that deadpool is difficult to depict just right. it's all about making it feel right. like horror games. it all lies in that which is not easy to define.
best case: they made deadpool into a very skilled, very intelligent goof who you could pass as the love child of batman and the joker with unrestrained destructive tendensies while executing unpredictable plans that just works because he is that good.
probably case: it is a mature modern comedy with a character that is balanced between grim and goofy that competently mixes serious and reckless plot events.
worst case: it's basically a slightly more serious scary movie that gets all it's "comedy" from memes, pop-culture references and 4th-wall breaking and the marvel references we have seen in the trailer are all there is on that front and thrown in only to satisfy their marvel handler.
honestly, i'd rather his emotions hidden by the humor, "chimichange", and "killing spree".
they said it will be like the comics.. and that's how he is in the comics.
the psychotic side of deadpool shows what he actually feels..
besides, even if it's all just fanservice like the video game, i personally don't mind. i'm sick of all the superheroes have some ************* love story, crappy upbringing, and PTSD. it's so ******* rampant and annoying in every Marvel and DC movie. it's nice to have more depth to characters but honestly some of them don't need to have their whole life stories played out and every little detail showed to explain them.. mystery is needed in writing and i feel like most of the recent hero movies are missing that.
we need more anti-heroes like the Comedian, Spawn, or Gambit... I hope Deadpool can help the studios realize that anti-heroes can have successful movies too...
Just looking at this, it doesn't quite appear to be that.
Just from this, it looks like a sort of superhero action movie, with all the 'no killing' whitewash taken out, whilst Deadpool continually quips witty one-liners.
So basically Micaheal Bay's Transformers, back when they were a phenomenon rather than some five-car-pileup of "oh god just let this franchise die"
thats exactly what I don't want, but it seems that they are going for it, originally, after Wade became Deadpool he forgot about his past, including his GF, but here it seems like he remembers everything and her fine and is going to save her from bad guys.
Well not too many people are going to take the time to find all the editions of the comics and read the backstory, so for those people this is great. But for the fans who have, we get to see how close someone comes this time, we get to analyze and compare and perhaps even if it isnt what the comics were, it could be better than. At least for some.
deadpool is funny and fun, his backstory isn't,
thats why I don't want this movie to be his backstory.
even in his game, he said that if the game will try to be serious and be about his past it would suck.
I would rather people know that he isn't just the LolRandom guy in a red suit. He needs some contrast in order to be the truely great character that he is.
I think this is gonna be the best of the recent Marvel movies, but I hope there will be more to Deadpool than just chimichangas and outdated-meme-orgy.
not made by Marvel though.
You can thank FOX for letting them make it R rated.
Marvel would have forced kid rating just like they do for any movie they make.
