The car isn't even the same
and they aren't even in the same place
If it was real I'd entirely agree
User avatar #95 to #54 - TastyBurger (06/13/2014) [-]
Except its totally the same car in the same place?
#106 to #95 - theoverwhelming (06/13/2014) [-]
third picture the back of the car is different, check the windows in the back. Plus, no antenna

For the same place, it isn't. In the first picture it looks like there is a large yard next to it (right of the car), perhaps a 'lane' of space before it
In the third one it's a parking lot
#111 to #106 - jasohazard (06/13/2014) [-]
Except the car is the same. Look at the trim and the tires. Plus there isn't really a way to tell whether or not the car is in the same place or not
#113 to #111 - theoverwhelming (06/13/2014) [-]
Perhaps the angle makes the windows look different, i'll give it that
The lack of the antenna is enough to say the car is different. The same wheels and trim means nothing though with the amount of cars out there
The back of the vehicle looks very different, it angles far too much in the third picture while in the first it is a very slight angle at the end

User avatar #120 to #113 - jasohazard (06/14/2014) [-]
Well the car is a Toyota Yaris and it does look like that from the front and the back. Also the antenna s probably just lost in the background, it has horrible quality since it was probably a phone picture.
#123 to #120 - theoverwhelming (06/14/2014) [-]
IMO, it looks like this one: You need to login to view this link
in the first picture (Antenna looks the same too)

Then this one You need to login to view this link
in the third

This is why I brought up the angle of the windows on the driver side
#124 to #123 - jasohazard (06/14/2014) [-]

#122 to #120 - jasohazard (06/14/2014) [-]
l would also like to attribute my knowledge of that being a Yaris to too much Gran Turismo 5
User avatar #118 to #106 - TastyBurger (06/13/2014) [-]
I don't even know what you're implying with "check the windows in the back". And as for the antenna, this picture doesn't have the greatest resolution. I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't see something a third of a centimeter in diameter from a couple yards away. Its most likely blending in with the background. Its the same car.

And how are you coming to the conclusion that its in a different place from that? Just because there's a small field doesn't mean there can't be a parking lot adjacent... There are areas from where I'm from (Essex, England) that look exactly like that area (even though its in Iceland).
#121 to #118 - theoverwhelming (06/14/2014) [-]
I was talking about the shape of the windows on driver side behind the driver seat
The distance is ever so slightly farther in the third picture than in the first. I doubt the resolution would cause it to disappear entirely

Well, those cars in the third picture must be parked between that field and what look to be bushes. This doesn't make much sense to me, but I suppose it's possible
#128 to #121 - TastyBurger (06/14/2014) [-]
The shape of the rear seat windows is the same, its the angle making it not look slanted. And the car wouldn't come without an antenna though, man.

And the "field" there isn't a field. Its a grassy area next to the walk-way going in between the houses. There's another one on the other side. I even went through the effort of drawing you a picture.
#130 to #128 - theoverwhelming (06/14/2014) [-]
In another post I've admitted that that could be, the angle messing with the rear seat windows. To me, right at the edge of the third picture it drops much quicker in the first picture. Butlike I said, the angle could be messing with it

Are you referring to the fact a car would never lack an antenna? If so, a lot of vehicles have retractable antennae.

How do you know of this house on the other side? That's a lot of parking for those houses, then. 'Field' was a quick way to describe a grassy area..

To add to the fact of it being two places, I drew a quick picture

User avatar #65 to #63 - minorian (06/13/2014) [-]
Why do you say Norwegian? Many Scandinavian countries have kroner/kronor/krona; I live in Denmark myself. The reason I say Icelandic is because I think I have heard that their currency has a much lower value than other Scandinavian kr. I google'd this myself, and 5000 Icelandic kr would approximately be 43$

more made up stories on the internet!
Different cars from 1st pic to 2nd (see antenna, rear window, door shape)

Also the two pictures are taken in two completely different places.
1st one is in some neighborhood street, 3rd one in some parking lot.

Also the angle from the curb isn't the same.

They are both 1st Gen 5 door Toyota Yaris/Vitz, and it is possible that the photos were not all taken at the time of discovery. Further pictures may have been taken later as it was discovered. Notice the rear curve of the rear left wheel arch has a rub running down the crease where paint is missing, and the rub is present in both the first and second pictures. Also, note the alloy wheels are the same in all the pictures.
Camera lenses/focus can distort pictures. Cars can move. Get over it.
#108 to #103 - kwanzalord (06/13/2014) [-]
You're correct in that the 1st and 2nd picture are of the same car and make.
However, I actually meant 3rd picture.
I wrote:
>Also the two pictures are taken in two completely different places
and then referenced the 1st and 3rd picture. I really meant to write 3rd instead of 2nd.
It's very evident that the 1st car and that of the one in the 3rd picture are of different models.
Pictures can be distorted, cars can move, but cars don't magically change models.
Who would lie on the internet right?

User avatar #140 to #139 - kwanzalord (06/15/2014) [-]
No I haven't.
I pride myself in not being in an accident .

However, coming from a insurance point of view....driving your vehicle home and then taking damage photos would be questionable. Most insurance will question this course of action.

Lastly, I believe i used the wrong terms with "make and model". Look at the 1st and 3rd pictures closely. They may seem similar...however, those two cars are just different cars. Period...end of story. If you can't see that, you don't know your cars.

Lastly, the car in the 3rd picture is still a different

Sometimes, accidents happen to you. I was hit from behind on a wet road, which caused me to skid off the road and up an embankment which flipped me onto my roof. It was too dangerous to stay where I was, due to the speed of the traffic (60mph+) and the narrow width of the road, we were likely to get hit again. So we took a quick picture, rolled the car on its wheels and drove it as best we could to the nearest safe location (a grass verge about a mile down the road).
Rear of a Toyota Yaris for you, just to show it's the same car.
