so just gonna disregard the fact that this has nothing to do with the actual civil war comics. It's probably not gonna be bad but this really seems kinda like a filler.
they borrow from comics, they don't follow comics, Think if it as just a fresh take on it with your favorite heavy hitters. I mean cramming all of Civil War into a 2 hour movie would just serve as a mess, but that's just me.
I'm tentatively hopeful for it, and it does look like it's fitting in with comic Civil War fairly well, while staying within the world that the MCU has built. There's the "Sokovia Accords" which I assume to be registration/control of powered individuals, which is like the comic Civil War. I assume this trailer is showing a lot of the early film that is a catalyst for a plot-line closer to the comics.
Someone blows something up
People blame Buck
Gov't goes after Buck under Sokovia Accords
Cap defends Buck
Iron Man goes to confront Cap/enforce Sokovia Accords
Cap and squad vs gov't and Iron Man squad starts.

First 1/4-1/2 of the movie right there, guaranteed.
As long as Captain and Iron Man are divided due to actual issues and beliefs like the Sokovia Accords, I'd be fine with it. Going by the trailer, I thought Captain went all AWOL just so he could save Buck which is stupid and very anime-esque.
Seriously.
The trailer paints stark as evil because cap doesnt want him to bring bucky in for the crimes hes commited.
Feels like theres just a little TOO much drama for it to follow the comics like everyone would like. I think they couldve done a better job with the trailer, put the main focus on the whole registration deal and what followed.
....Black Panther siding with stark? We got reed richards and stark and panther and Xavier. All we need is Dr. Strange, Namor, and Black Bolt and we got ourselves the Illuminati.
Alongside banner.
He didnt directly build it to kill everyone. He built an ai and it went haywire. Failed experiment. Unexpected outcome. Nothing more IMO
