Scientists only gather all the knowledge they can about the subject they are studying, no matter how relevant it might seem. What to do with that knowledge is up to other areas.

Because it can correlate to the sleeping patterns of very related animals and maybe why they're extinct. If you sleep during the afternoon when other predators are active, that might be why you're dead.

I did a study measuring the effects of EDCs on alligator's sexual development. Essentially, we pulled juvenile male alligators out of the water and tickled their bellies so that we could measure the length of their boners. What a life I have, haha.

For that particular experiment exactly, not a whole lot probably. Most of the expenses typically go into maintaining the ice stations where the researchers live (which are the closest we'll get to permanent human settlement in Antarctica).

I have to think about it every day. Otherwise i lose my research grant.

Here's hoping we can isolate for some good predictors for high sctivity level and it's relationship with frequency of courtship, success of mounting, and offspring health. otherwise, i have been spending 40 hours a week staring at fly porking for nothing o.o
