The TL;DR of this is that Plasmodium parasites carry malaria, and when the malaria is bound to a cancer-killing toxin to the malaria protein, they tested it on cancer cells, and in all the tests they've performed, they've had a 90 percent success rate. On the negative side, it destroys placenta like thirty shots of alcohol destroys your liver, so pregnant women with cancer get to say goodbye to any unborn children. Luckily, the altered malaria protein doesn't affect non-cancerous cells.

Just remember whenever someone says they found a cure for cancer they actually mean that they found a potential treatment for a subset of a certain type of cancer.

Cancer is not some specific disease to be cured, its closer to a class of diseases. Saying youve cured cancer is like saying youve cured all forms of parasitic infections, or all forms of bacterial or fungal infections, etc.

thats true, but all cancer still share the same basic common traits.
from what i understand cancer is most basically when something in your cells causes chromosome 11 i think its #11atleast to mutate. what that chromosome does is causes us and our cells to age, and with that chromosome damaged the cells dont age, or die normally (effectively making them immortal). they multiply until the cluster is so big it causes massive damage to the host.
i think total cancer cure could be possible if they figure out how to manipulate chromosomes of targeted cells
