yes,.....feminism/feminazi is still populare outside Tumblr

did you know?
The outspoken feminist and author Camille
Paglia has actually been a strong critic against
modern feminism, stating that "feminism has
become a catchalls vegetable drawer where
launches of clingy sob sisters can store their
moldy neuroses."

On one hand:

Camille Paglia, often decried by feminists as a sock-puppet controlled by the patriarchy.

Well, yeah. Modern feminists are to the original feminists what Al-Qaeda is to regular muslims - that retarded, vocal minority who have strayed so far away from the original they may as well not be considered a part of it, but still convince people that the original thing is horribly. It's not. Original feminism was good, since it gave women rights. Modern feminism, on the other hand, is utter **** , because it takes away the rights of men. I mean, **** , it takes away the rights of a ******* of women, too. I've seen some of those crazy bitches claim that women are mindless puppets of the patriarchy if they use tampons and maintain a human level of personal hygene.

im not trying to be an asshole..but its simply because the general population is absolutely stupid..it takes someone with a an idea, and followers to start a movement..at first, its good..but the longer it goes on and the more people it attracts the more "waterd down" it gets and starts to become something different...too many people usually = too broad ofa spectrum of ideas and personalities to properly reflect the values of a movement the way ti was intended in the begging.

IMO; Feminism is completely ****** as it is. It's become so radical that it's immediately seen as negative by anyone outside their own echo-chamber. It's going to need to be beaten back into shape by people like this before it can be taken seriously to accomplish any further goals.

I'd like for everyone to look at this.
I support feminism. No, not that "Hur dur men suck women rule everything is rape", but that kind of feminism that encourages women to pursue careers that have more effect on society, such as being a politician, or a director. I support the kind that teaches girls that you aren't an object, but a human being that can effect the world. I support the kind that says that mothers, as a matter of fact, can work, and if they don't want to, that's good too. The kind that helps women in the middle east (and other places where women have little to no rights). The kind that says that it's not OK to have a dress code in school that only applies to girls. The kind that says that a womans word should be respected just as much as a mans should. The kind that breaks stereotypes, and tells both girls AND boys that gender roles are stupid and you should like what you like. That's the feminism I support.
And before you say "Well, we don't need feminism, women have equal rights", you're telling me that society expects as much from a man as it does from a woman? That if a woman speaks out she isn't called "bossy" and "annoying", whist a man would be called "persuasive"? That teenage boys get the same amount of harassment from women as teenage girls get from men (No, this doesn't mean I think that a woman can't rape)? What about Lawrence Lockman saying "If a woman has (the right to an abortion), why shouldn’t a man be free to use his superior strength to force himself on a woman?" read more: issuehawk.com/igor/2014/03/04/republican-if-a-woman-has-right-to-an-abortion-a-man-should-have-right-to-force-himself-on-a-woman.html
Modern feminism is great, it's the vocal minority you hear about that gives you such an idea. It's that obnoxious, loud and downright idiotic 7% that gives all the others a bad name.
I'll go now

Something to keep in mind: most criticism of feminism tends to be criticism of the people in it. The original ideals (personal agency, not having to fit typical gender roles if you don't want to, etc.) are largely accepted even by non feminists alike. It's people who create the problem. Which is pretty much what she's saying right here.

I've dated a moderate feminist and I have to say, apart from some small issues she was a pretty good girlfriend. She got pissed off at the stereotypical feminazi just as much as we do. She might get even more pissed because they give her view system a bad reputation. I can definitely confirm the existence of the availability heuristic when it comes to feminism. The extremist views yell louder and get more media coverage so that's all people see.

Feminism is still needed. It's needed in countries where women are jailed for being raped, are denied education, and are treated like animals or property. We aren't perfect here and in other 1st World countries, and we could do better, but there are places that need feminism WAY more than we do.

PS. Does anyone else see a goddamn pattern among these countries? I'll give you a hint. It has to do with the dominant religion.

It's a shame feminism has gained such a negative connotation to society. I, like most people, used to hear the word feminism and think of ugly fat lesbians who hate men. But really, the base ideas of feminism are something that really anyone should be able to support. It's just like politics, you only hear the voice of the extremist douche bags.

I was dreading reading the comments I really thought it was going to be full of anon comments and childish cunts using the usual unoriginal crap but have to say I'm surprised and glad to see that people know there's a difference between the majority of feminists who just want the same opportunities, respect and pay as any man not just be handed everything on a silver plater there's nothing more insulting then to be treated like your made of china just because you have ovaries
User avatar #175 to #154 - dehnoobshow (05/19/2014) [-]
And there's nothing more insulting than people thinking you're a homophobic sexist asshole just because you have testicles.
Has happened before.
