That whole episode was nothing short of amazing, but ***** those last 15 min were outta this world. I haven't felt like this since Breaking Bad's last episodes.
Also those last 20 mins alone were better made than the entire WWZ movie
Hell, they were better than most blockbusters from recent years
I kept thinking he was gonna die, he moves slowly so I thought he was tired and wounded and about to give up
But how can your fav part not be when Jon used Longclaw to **** that white walker up? I felt like the whole series was leading up to that point. Somebody on Reddit even said the sound it made was the Song of Ice and Fire (cuz of how the swords are made)
Ramblings of an insane crack-theorist here.
What if Longclaw is Lightbringer?
Book spoilers: Jon dreams of fighting with a flaming sword.
Half-hand threw himself on the sword for Jon. The original Lightbringer was quenched in the blood of the maker's wife, who sacrificed herself.
Jon clearly has some kind of power. Mellisandre (However it's spelled.. ) sees something in him when they meet, and a Warg sees that Jon has great power in that realm as well.
As for the episode. Holy hell. That was intense. I was shivering at the end of that massacre. I thought that the Night's King would freeze the ocean so that the undead could continue their advance. Kinda sad that didn't happen.
I thought the same thing about him freezing water since Others potentially bring the cold with them, but I guess raising all their friends from the dead can be equally terrifying
I also think Jon is Azor Ahai, but there's something fishy going on. That Walker could have easily killed Jon (yes, he was toying with him by just throwing him around, but the Thenn got mercilessly rekt in 3 seconds). It was fairly nonchalant as if Jon was the only human around to kill and only really tried to end him at the same time he realized he was boned.
The Night King (if that's who that guy is) seems to respect Jon, always paying particular attention to him and little else. And I think they know whattup. I wouldn't be surprised if Jon ends up fighting alongside the Walkers in a surprise twist where they are somehow not as evil as we believe. There are theories out there that indicate that may yet be the case.
I'm looking forward to learning more about them. Why they go south, and why they wish to make every living thing dead.
Maybe they realized that Jon is Azor Ahai when he killed that walker, and therefore give him extra attention. Maybe they want to do with Jon like they did to the 13th commander of the Nights Watch. awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Night's_King
In the books Stannis has Lightbringer in his possession. It was given to him by Melisandre, and it even lights up. However, there they say that whenever Lightbringer is wielded by the true Azor Ahai it will also glow, and it will be warmer around it - and Aemon points out that it doesn't glow when wielded by Stannis thus him not being Azor Ahai. I still think that Jon Snow is the true Azor Ahai, but the TV-series hasn't included anything about Lightbringer at all. Also, Longclaw doesn't glow.
Oh, I thought it was a fact that it was the real Lightbringer - but that only the true Azor Ahai could do so it emitted heat and thus wield it properly.
I was so nervous because I didnt want jon snow to die. I was shaking in bed the whole time and damn . I was litteraly shaking after the episode it was so awesome. loved it
Although I'm a book reader and these events aren't in the books, this episode was nothing short of fantastic. All the butt hurt book fans whining about the show surpassing the books in story need to go complain to GRRM about his snail-pace writing.
I'm really happy about the changes. I hope it means that the books and the TV series will deviate. In that way I won't get the future books spoiled by the TV-series and vice versa.
Definitly start reading from the beginning, there are so many sub-plots and characters in the books that are not in the show. If you read from where it gets different you probably wont be able to follow the story.
I like that it's different, I get to versions of the story and there's nothing wrong with that. Although I'm not a huge fan of the stories emphasis on renly being gay, it was better when it was implied.
He probably could do that but he isnt in any rush. The longer they wait the stronger they will become. I mean this guy just took over a village and gained a **** ton of troops in just like 15 minutes image what he could do in 60 minutes.
Hes just slowly building his army up to prepare for winter.
While he doesn't show emotion. He may have an ego thing going on. Wants to look like a bad ass in front of all his minions. That ended up being the viper's mistake last season.
>you are so unknown to the enemy up until now they thought you were a myth
>you have an army that is already dead and gets more members when you fight someone else
>you just got a million more dudes
>you are immune to their weapons for all you know
>Winter is coming
That white walker did that because he is so confident in himself and his coming victory there is no need for it. He looked Snow in the eye when he did it as a giant middle finger. Plus sea water is super hard to freeze
Science: Impurities in substances lower their melting/freezing point. When pure water freezes it creates a lattice structure. When there's an impurity present (salt) it causes imperfections in the lattice structure, making it easier for the nearby water molecules to break from the formation, thereby melting. However, seawater on average melts/freezes at 28.4ish degrees Fahrenheit (-2 degrees Celsius), so if he wanted to, he could totally wreck their shizz.
Guys, I have the best idea.
Thoros of Myr, right? Red priest and **** . Fights with a sword that he lights on fire.
Wights don't like fire, fire is the only thing that can really, properly kill them.
Valyrian Steel can kill a White Walker.
Give Thoros a Valyrian Steel sword and send him on his merry ******* way to sort those cunts right the **** out.
potential spoiler, i think this is right; it's not the valyrian steel that lets him fight the whitewalkers, its the fact it was forged in dragonfire. methinks they'll eventually ally with daenaerys, and maybe use dragon fire to mass produce swords to fite the unded
just a theory
Dragonfire would still likely work though. Valyrian Steel is also called "dragonsteel" and of course, theres the dragonglass. So it could be assumed that dragonfire would take those cunts right the **** down as well. Plus, regular fire kills the Wights, the only way to make sure they die for good. So, dragonfire would be the most effective thing because hey, two birds with one horrifying, flaming rock.
**** ME RIGHT? Now I'm not saying that I was disappointed because this episode was in all intensive purposes "the tits", but I will say that I wanted frost spiders pretty bad. They even mentioned them in the elders scene ( getting my hopes up) and would have been perfect for riding over the cliffs. Just saying, it sounds like cool **** is all.
Pic unrelated, it's my drunkenly passed out friend
