Boomslang means "tree snake" in Afrikaans
and Dutch.
This venomous reptile is noted for being one
of the most beautiful and deadly snakes in all
of Africa.
The boomslang is quite deadly, and is one of the
few that can actually inject venom
rather easily. This is because they have large
rear fangs in which they deliver cytotoxic
venom when they bite. disable the

bitten will bleed from every opening in their

one of the reasons their venom is so quick acting is because, as you listed, their main prey items are birds. this means the venom has to act quickly so the bird can't just fly away.
