Hello again, everyone! To be honest, I can see pretty much every single one of these happening to Gogo and company. So why are they in extras? Well, mostly because they didn't obviously fit within any of the other storylines we've been following. Hence the title.
The other reason is because this is the last extras post (for now, at least)! Yep, in recent months VanHeist has been focusing more and more on the, well, story part of this story. Which, seeing as how comics are consistently more popular than the extras, will probably come as good news to some of you. It also makes me wonder if he'll finally make this an honest-to-goodness webcomic before long. Not to worry, we've still got a good amount of comics to go through before we get all caught up.
Next Monday I'll probably do an art comp instead. Because VanHeist is an artist before all else, it turns out (surprise surprise) he likes to draw his characters without text.
If you'd like a mention for these, gimme a reply to this comment and say so! These comics are the property of VanHeist, and if you'd like to see more (or get a glimpse at his ideas behind making each comic) go visit him at www.vanheist.deviantart.com
I ****** spent like the last 30 minutes flicking through your profile to find the parts in order and then i find this one and you've kindly ordered them for people, god ******* damnit
Loooong ago, in a distant land, I, VAATU, shapeshifting master of not-spiritness, unleashed an UNSPEAKABLE BOOTY!
But a foooolish Avatar, wielding a magic chest, stepped forth to oppose me.
Before the final job was blow'd, I TWOAH open a portal in time, and FLUNG her into my ass! Now the fool seeks to return the passt, and undo the evil that is VAATU.
I refer you to the description that VanHeist puts up on his Bomango gallery: Please excuse the jumbled and chronologically confused mess. "Bomango" has been a work in progress almost entirely during my stay here on deviantART, and as such, attempts to read it as a single, cohesive story will probably give you an aneurysm.
Inquisitive, well-meaning folks will often ask "What is Bomango? What is Gogo? Where does it all begin? ARE YOU MAD, SIR?!?"
'Bomango' is my ongoing vanity project. While it has no formal beginning, or even basic organization, I've kept working at it, improving it, experimenting, and I won't be stopping anytime soon. I'm working to expand it into a proper narrative, but in the meantime there will be constant messing around here with the sort of things you see before you. A big, fun, weird mess.
Basically, I'm just trying to organize what's there into some semblance of order. For those of you who prefer answers over vague promises of explanations to come, here's my personal quick overview of the characters: Gogo is an unknown entity with mystical and very destructive powers, not the least of which is her good looks (something she's quick to remind anyone who will listen). For reasons unknown, she's taken a liking to Andy (the kid with the long hair). Well, unknown for now, their relationship will develop. They know each other because Andy's uncle (who is waaaay beyond the point of caring about pretty much anything) hired Gogo as a janitor of sorts for his rental buildings (see my 2nd post). Gogo and Didi live in one of said buildings, which is right next to (or possibly a subsection of, not quite sure) Andy's house. Didi, by the way, was the result of Gogo's decision to self-replicate (see posts 1&2). She's pretty much Gogo's opposite, despite technically being a clone. Hector (has shorter hair, seen dressed up as Raggedy Ann here) is Andy's best friend, and remarkably luckless with the ladies.
The big woman GoGo is..something. No one knows but her and DiDi (chick from the first comic.) Didi split from Gogo a while back and they started living together. At some point Andy's uncle employed Gogo and they got a house together. Most everything else is just their adventures. Also, recently Andy and Gogo got together and Didi's a lesbian. Or bisexual. More than likely bisexual
Not to worry. Nothing's ever really explained perfectly. The author, while he's pretty good at stories, is first and foremost an artist, so things tend to get a little disjointed. However, at some point he plans to turn this whole thing into a webcomic so we can look forward to that.
Found his work a while ago, then could never find it again, until I saw it here, so thank you for posting these here so I could find him again. You rock mate.
