Further confirming my theory that snakes are just hungry socks that escaped from my washing machine.

I think it's hilarious that a kid could be walking to school, see this thing start to eat the lizard, say "CROIKEY" and get to school
Then at lunch time he goes outside to eat his fairy bread, and still sees the snake eating it.

I honestly thought it was a lizard with a tube sock over it at first

It did not take that python 5 hours to eat it.
How did it take 5 hours if it only took me less than a minute to see all the pictures?

I always think that snakes eating bigger meals look like rugby socks aggressively being worn

Except not only in Australia - there are many examples of Burmese Pythons eating Alligators in the everglades. Pic related; it's one that got ripped in half during the process.
#73 to #33 - vegasstoner (12/18/2015) [-]
hold on the snake ripped in half while trying to eat the alligator...one time i got heartburn after eating pizza and thought I was taking risks.....

When you think you can, but you really cant, and you try anyway.
User avatar #30 - puzzlemint (12/18/2015) [-]
They also eat other snakes and are immune to the venom of most Australian snakes.
#53 - bigbrostrider (12/18/2015) [-]
damn son that's a heavy mix of avarice and dedication im seeing here.
#46 - shigiddy (12/18/2015) [-]
From a practical standpoint, isn't it better for the snake NOT to eat the lizard? If it takes five hours to fully swallow, that's 5 hours for another predator to come along and get a double dinner. Plus I doubt it'll be able to get away from anything until it digests some.
#49 to #46 - bibbity (12/18/2015) [-]
There's not many large predators in australia not land based ones anyway . Maybe some dingoes could take that thing on, but they'd likely steer clear of it for fear of being eaten themselves. It's probably safe.
User avatar #52 to #46 - frenzyhero (12/18/2015) [-]
If I recall correctly, they can quickly regurgitate their food.
