**thehistorylover used "*roll picture*"**
**thehistorylover rolled image**I know it's not the same as having a career, but being a full time mother is a job. Even when children aren't sick or crying, they can be awful little ***** . I love kids, but they will wreck your **** . They draw on walls, break computers, flush keys down the toilet, etc. You also have various expenses, school to take them too, and dealing with other people telling you how to raise your kids, even if you seem to be doing a decent job.

The second definition in your source says it is a task or piece of work, especially if it's paid. Especially doesn't mean certainly. What I meant by a job was that raising children is a difficult thing to do. It wears you down. It's not the same as a paid job, of course, but it is a type of work.
If you consider a married couple, when one of the two stays home and takes care of children full time, it can be considered they are sharing an income. Legally and by the definition, one has a job. But realistically one may be sacrificing their career to take care of the children. This is what courts take into account during divorce, lost possible wages. I absolutely support moms and dads who sacrifice to take care of the children. Yes, both parents can work but there is definitely a positive effect in the life of a child in having a parent their during serious developmental years. I hate people ******** on them or looking down on them for not advancing their careers.
