I mean, there isn't necessarily a fighting style pertinent to bigger folks, unless you are considering taking up Drunken Monk as a hobby you'll be 50 or so by the time you master it Find something you feel comfortable doing and enjoy.
check out muay thai, I think you would really enjoy it. It is extremely versatile, fairly easy to pick up, and there will typically be someone teaching classes in any decent sized city
Generally, you should try out kyokoshin if you are a big dude, or duddette I guess. It actually isn't always that hard to find, it's all about full contact, but still mixing in the circle technique of kung fu. One of guys who first created it was named Mas Oyama. If you actually want to learn, I'd say this is way better for a big guy than any of the other comments. Seriously though, the other ones are either created for small guys or are just un specialized to height or weight or strength.
Tai Chi or Aikido are great for people of all sizes, but I find being larger makes you better. They're throwing/redirection martial arts. Being big and strong lets you fling people further and harder.
Matrial arts were made so small guys had a chance against big untrained or poorly trained guys. If you do whatever fighting style looks fun to you it will work. You will just have the advantage of being bigger and well trained. coming from a 6ft 100kg Taekwondo black belt
any "hard" style. soft styles have there advantages, but in my opinion are weak and not worthy. Boxing, karate, there's a long list of styles to choose from, the hard part is knowing which instructors don't suck. you can get a ****** instructor in any style, a good "soft" style instructor is better than a bad "hard" style. Personally I like Tang Soo Do. it's a hard style that incorporates some of the soft stuff that actually works. it doesn't matter if you're big or small, you can use it. If you're fat, you're going to have difficulty with some of the more acrobatic kicks, but they aren't all that necessary in a fight anyway. All you need in a street fight is a good round house, a good jab and a left hook.
May sound weird but capoaira Is pretty good for massive guys
One of the guys I train with does it he is 6'6"ish
Hes the only person that can overcome my speed due to the insane amount of reach has
Im 5'8"ish
It takes mad core strength though
Otherwise just learn what suits your personality
Just avoid cookie cutter give a belt to anyone schools
i...uhh just always figured you go with what you're best at
i mean sure you could spend weeks or years learnin the **** all these ******* are tellin below
but I just figure you were looking for a more strategy-based answer, in which case i woulda just figured you'd prefer a style that's power-based
--i mean its true, speed is usually the most important thing in a fight, but i'm pretty sure with a large build all you need to do is be patient, focus, and land one good hit
for street fights the most useful things to learn are how to escape grabs, and how to throw punches, 90% of the time there's going to be more than one guy to fight off and if not you'll want the fight to be over quickly, if you're focusing on putting one guy in a grab you're going to get a bottle to the head while you're not looking
and don't forget you don't have to devote yourself to one fighting style, most professional fighters work with at least 3 and know more
a few questions need asked first are you fast or are you one of the slow gym rat types are you willing to sacrafice a little size to be a better fighter and do you already have a perfered style
