I think you'll find even if you have been impaled by a spear and have had a leg cut off, you would still get out of the way of a car coming at you.
You lie on the floor because you dont want to move until you know moving wont cause greater harm, but that doesnt mean you cant still move out of the way of a more serious threat if faced with it.
