Early humans didn't regularly rape. From what we know about the behavior of apes most related to them, they formed family units and maturing women would visit others', usually to be inspected and accepted or declined by the family unit as a whole, and then mated with one of the males if there were no problems.

Our closest living relatives, Bonobos, actually only take part in consensual sex. "Rapists" are usually rejected and/or treated violently. Realistically, ancient man was probably similar in that regard.
