Batman vs superman easter eggs

Tes,
Trialled Easte Eggs and faat§
Part 1 if
The start of Batman vs. Superman is the end of Man of steel
where Superman destroys the city. The building is
Wayne Financials.
Metropolis and Gotham are sister cities across the bay
of eachother. (Like San Francisco and Oakland IRL).
Metropolis has the rich, Gotham has the poor.
The paper in the trailer shows a red handwriting with
you let your family die' after the Wayne Financials
building got destroyed. It is possibly the Joker' s
handwriting. Everyone he loves dies (parents, Robins)
and now his employees of whom 'dozens' are killed.
The Batman in Batman vs. Superman is based on
The Dark Knight Returns. There he is Batman
for a long time and therefore he is more brutal
then any other Batman seen in the movies.
In the trailer we see a Superman that may be new
to the DC Universe. A new unsympathetic Superman
that does not necessarily safe everyone and has a
sort of rage against humanity instead.
Sorry for the long post. Here is a Superman vs
Batman potato. If you want to see more give it a like
and I will make a part 2.

I thought Metropolis and Gotham were farther apart from each other. In Batman: Hush, Bruce Wayne makes the travel to Gotham seem like a much longer distance since he takes a private plane there
#90 to #2 - atomicjojo ONLINE (12/08/2015) [-]
yeah that is one reason why i cant stand DC, they make no effort for continuity and consistency. Honestly, just lazy writing is typical for them.
User avatar #28 to #2 - thedistrict (12/08/2015) [-]
yeah i actually read that in the dc universe, gotham is based off of New jersey and metropolis was based off of new york
#91 to #28 - atomicjojo ONLINE (12/08/2015) [-]
I thought Gotham was compared to Detroit and metropolis was Manhattan. Their resemblances are uncanny.

its for the movie
User avatar #36 to #2 - cuntism (12/08/2015) [-]
It's fluid. Films have to take creative license and ri-jig a lot of details. Then again a lot of time so do the comics.

It's very few people who demand that the details be locked in stone for eternity, and demand pure continuity over refreshed stories and details
User avatar #38 to #2 - hirollin (12/08/2015) [-]
Some say they were both based on new york. Not a whole lot of info on it since it changes all the time.

But based on hour locations from Smallville to Metropolis that they have mentioned, it's more likely that Metropolis would be located comparably to Chicago. And Gotham is clearly based on New York City.

Personally I always thought it was Chicago and New York. It's the only two cities that make sense for the time period the comics originated imo.

In the map on one of the movies. Star City is in New England near Rhode Island I believe, and Central City is pretty much just Kansas City.
User avatar #42 to #38 - angelious ONLINE (12/08/2015) [-]
older comics actually put gotham near new jersey or something while metropolis is just north of texas...then again older comics were weird.
User avatar #44 to #42 - hirollin (12/08/2015) [-]
Older comics are weird indeed. That's why we love them.

pc also saw the best comics...

all star superman, what happened to the man of tomorrow(technically came out during silver age) killing joke, specter comics(the 90s series was balls out awesome...well the earlier ones were..late 90s were weird) doomsday. and so on
User avatar #52 to #50 - hirollin (12/08/2015) [-]
kind of a wide range of years it could be.
User avatar #51 to #50 - hirollin (12/08/2015) [-]
what years do you consider post crisis to be.
User avatar #53 to #51 - angelious ONLINE (12/08/2015) [-]
post crisis continuum started when silver age ended..which was generally around final crisis? i think?? and it ended with flashpoint which started the disasterous n52. which ended in convergence which started the convergence continuum.
User avatar #83 to #53 - ljxjlos (12/08/2015) [-]
Is convergence any good? I started reading it, but at some point very early, got bored by it and dropped it. Felt too much like a forced copy of Secret Wars Which I loved for most parts) and the issues of pretty much every series during it where ...dunno, just meh. Did it get better as it went on? Is it immensely important to read it if I want to keep reading the new series?
User avatar #55 to #53 - hirollin (12/08/2015) [-]
Oh right. Convergence exists. I should probably read that at some point.

Agreed pc is best. Identity Crisis is probably the best comic I have ever read. Which falls under that era.
User avatar #56 to #55 - angelious ONLINE (12/08/2015) [-]
isnt that the one with the infamous deathstroke vs jl?
User avatar #57 to #56 - hirollin (12/08/2015) [-]
Indeed it is.
User avatar #58 to #57 - angelious ONLINE (12/08/2015) [-]
ah yes. then i remember that...not really my favourite arc...but i can see the lure it has.

mine would most likely be all star superman. it contains the greatest heartwarming moment ever put to paper..only rivalled by grants ending to year one supes in n52.
User avatar #59 to #58 - hirollin (12/08/2015) [-]
I really liked grant until I heard him talk. Now I can only see him as a deranged nutjob. Identity Crisis was a one off, but **** the character development was off the charts. It was like reading an actual book and was so much more satisfying than any comic I have ever read. Completely forgot that deathstroke fight happened tbh. I haven't read a lot of new 52. Everything I like they change or stop making. Supergirl has probably been my most read comic series in n52. Really like what they did with her. It's like the opposite of the tv show in every way.
User avatar #60 to #59 - angelious ONLINE (12/08/2015) [-]
grant is cloud cuckoolander to the max. but he is also one of the greatest comic book artists ever to grace earth. and i didnt like identity crisis because of the character derailment..flash ga and hal would never under normal circumstances allow any of the other heroes to get away with brainwashing... and ofcourse then there was that deathstroke fight which still makes me chuckle at how stupid it was...

also did they start making a new supergirl series? because the one i read was rather stupid as it tried to imply supergirl is "stronger than superman and FASTER THAN FLASH"
User avatar #62 to #60 - hirollin (12/08/2015) [-]
Grant also created damien which is pretty unforgivable imo.
User avatar #64 to #62 - angelious ONLINE (12/08/2015) [-]
would think you would love damien considering he has some of the best character development a person has ever had in dc comics for a long time.
User avatar #66 to #64 - hirollin (12/08/2015) [-]
I don't know about that. Glad he's dead though. Rha's and all his **** storylines pretty significantly hurt the batman franchise imo. Damian being one of the worst. I don't remember too much character development. He was pretty much as one dimensional as can be.
User avatar #67 to #66 - angelious ONLINE (12/08/2015) [-]
if you want one dimensional then look at the other robins. all of them were pretty much just copies of nightwing.

meanwhile damian went from a snot nozed brat into more and more of a robin,. his journey to a hero was a good one. and idk why you think ras storylines are bad..but i guess thats a matter of opinion?
User avatar #61 to #60 - hirollin (12/08/2015) [-]
I loved it for that very reason. That was the whole point. It showed them being human and abusing their powers and reasoning for the greater good. Taking the most difficult path possible.

I dunno, I know the justice league assaulted her and Hel at one point (in the fortress of solitude) and they were defeated by them. She virtually has nothing to do with Earth for most of it. She became a Red Lantern for a little bit. Actually died too to escape it.
User avatar #63 to #61 - angelious ONLINE (12/08/2015) [-]
yeah but the heroes they tried to sell as being pragmatic were already established as people who would not take that path. it went againts several decades worth of character development to have them act that way.

and that does sound kinda silly...was that the normal jl mash up? because even if she teamed up with superman she should not be able to defeat the entire jl...

User avatar #116 to #63 - hirollin (12/08/2015) [-]
guess so yeah.
User avatar #65 to #63 - hirollin (12/08/2015) [-]
I think Flash was the only one to break through to the room. The rest of the JL were fighting the fully armed Fortress, and others were doing damage control. Supes was trying to prevent all the creatues from dieing and getting loose. Batman was trying to break in... Wonder Woman... I was doing other damage control but I think... may have fought Supergirl briefly.

GL wasn't there I think.

Central City is coastal though.
#72 to #38 - shanmstr ONLINE (12/08/2015) [-]
Metropolis and Gotham are both "new york." Metropolis is the day new york, alive bright symbol of america... like superman. Gotham is new york of the night. dark underground, dangerous gritty... like batman. they could be sister city, but many fans belive theyre sister states. Metropolis is new york and gotham across the border in new jersey.

Gotham is New York below 14th Street, from SoHo to Greenwich Village, the Bowery, Little Italy, Chinatown, and the sinister areas around the base of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges.

Yup. The movie versions of the two cities may be sister cities, but in all other media they are far, far apart

The actual location of cities in DC is never a sure thing. The only constant appears to be what coast they are on.
User avatar #70 to #2 - toosexyforyou (12/08/2015) [-]
Different authors write different stuff. They have explained this by having "different dimensions" where the world that author 1 wrote with Gotham and Metropolis being far apart could be something like "Earth 1" and the world where Gotham and Metropolis are closer together could be something like "Earth 52." Not sure if correct but just an example.

oh yeah in the arkham games he was just stupid big and yeah that's what i was figuring the more i kept looking him up but the main thing about him is that he just doesn't feel big in all honestly in most of the shoots he looks to be of normal height when i though killer croc i always would think of a guy at least 6'8 and muscular as ****

Yeah the main problem i get with croc is he doesn't seem like croc he doesn't look really massive or intimidating he just looks like he got some crazy skin condition course i'm not well versed on all the DC characters and their lore so maybe their was a time where he really was just a bit bigger than the average guy and looked like he had a skin condition.

The first trailer got me so ******* pumped for the movie, and then the second trailer completely removed all of my excitement.
First trailer seemed like a genuinely exciting, fresh movie. Second trailer seemed as overstuffed as The Amazing Spiderman 2. No way can you fit Batman, Superman, Lex Luther, what looks like Doomsday, Wonderwoman and the entire encyclopaedia of comics cameos revealed to appear in one ******* movie.
I feel like the studio making Batman vs. Superman feel intimidated by how fleshed-out the MCU is at this point, and want to hurry to that same point.
User avatar #96 to #32 - giantcondor (12/08/2015) [-]
watchmen did it.
User avatar #117 to #96 - thegamegestapo (12/08/2015) [-]
Watchmen was a character study/deconstruction of a superhero comic built from the ground up. It worked as a film because Moore had complete freedom to tell his story and Snyder made a very faithful adaptation okay, there were a few major deviations with the mind squid and the killing people thing . Dawn of Justice is part of a shared universe and is jam packed with new characters, yet it's being marketed as Batman versus Superman. It just looks messy.

"It's Batman versus Superman but also Superman versus Lex Luthor and the fallout from the last film, and Doomsday! Also Wonder Woman and Aquaman and the Flash are in it too! And there's this whole thing with the Dark Knight Returns."

Watchmen had a lot of characters but it only had one true antagonist, and more importantly, it was well structured.

I don't think Metropolis is the rich city and Gotham the poor.

They are simply mirrors of each other in respects of the characters residing in them and the stories that unfold.

The movie is inspired by the Dark Knight Returns Part 2, not based. If anything its really only inspired the look of Batman/RobotSuitBatman, not Sups or storyline.

How is seeing a new perspective on Superman an Easter Egg or Fact?

I guess if you're a huge comic book nerd who gets their panties all bunched up at the slightest bit of "Wah it's not like the comics!" you're going to hate them but personally i'm looking forward to seeing a darker sort of super hero movie, i'm hoping to like the DCU for a lot of the same reasons i loved Jessica Jones and am looking forward to the other Netflix marvel titles.

Explosions. False god. Flying. Cool Batman technology. An emotion or two. Suspense. Slow-mo 300 AND The Matrix style. It will be a stalemate. The end.
I do not like Zack Snyder. He dumbed down and de-camped Watchmen.

If the Joker sent that then he knows Bruce Wayne is Batman.
User avatar #122 to #107 - Izen (12/08/2015) [-]
joker is supposed to be a genius
he KNOWS and always has KNOWN
but beating/breaking wayne is boring
he needs to have bats do it
User avatar #124 to #122 - thegamegestapo (12/08/2015) [-]
Oh, don't give me that Scott Snyder villian-sue bull.

Joker is a headcase with a twisted sense of humour and a comedy duo theme, turning him into some calculating super-genius on par with Batman detracts from what makes him great.
User avatar #126 to #124 - Izen (12/08/2015) [-]
not super genius or on par with bats. That's riddler
but joker is not an idiot
not a SUPER genius
but he IS smart
and probably though about ******* following Bruce or something
User avatar #128 to #126 - thegamegestapo (12/09/2015) [-]
You're probably right, yeah.

my theory on it.
superman after the whole man of steel thing gets abit over protective of humanity, seeing it as his duty to keep the world at peace.

but his overprotectiveness turns into aggressive peacekeeping, becoming dictator-like and using his power to absolutely destroy anyone he deems a threat. and nobody can stand up to him, he is a bully in some sense. but like with most bad people and bullies he himself doesnt see what hes become.

batman brings him back to sense through physical rehabilitation

,but also and more by showing superman his own way of dealing with bad guys, of which batman has more experience at this stage. batman shows him that by using violence and death to achieve ones goals, even well intentioned goals, he himself becomes the villain and that the only thing that devides the good from the bad is the way in which they achieve there goals. this lesson is learned during their fight/discussion and via them joining forces to take out the greater threat of doomsday.

in the end superman learns the error of his ways and becomes more like batman in his approach to heroism. batman and superman reconsile their differences and i believe that will be the seeding of the justice league.

also wonderwoman is there.
