"Objectification! Fake beauty standards!"
That's a real woman though. Are they complaining that real women are unrealistic?

I think its more the thought that ALL women can and are *supposed* to look like that, thats the problem. That look is not achievable by every woman because 1) its not cheap to maintain that level of perfection and 2) you cant eat pizza daily who are we kidding. this is the only real issue here . 3) despite what people think some women do have different body shapes and a perfect hour glass isn't obtainable by everyone some girls just cant get a booty no matter what they do. some are flat chested. some have no hips or have huge hips which, is not a weight thing, its a how your pelvic bone is shaped kind of thing . Just like every guy shouldn't be expected to look like hercules because realistically for some guys its just not possible. Unless you can afford steroids and a gym membership for several years. lol

But nobody says all women should look like that. Everyone knows not everyone can have that kind of body, and any rational person can accept that fact ad still see women who aren't like that attractive. Sure, people can say a girl like that is the most attractive, but that's still not then saying all women should look like her. These women who claim men think all women should have the same body type because let's be real, as sexy as a girl with actual curves is, it'd be boring if they were all like that. Every guy likes body type variety are just insecure idiots with a victim complex.
#134 to #43 - anon (09/01/2015) [-]
That's exactly what makes all this SJW nonsense so inflammatory. It's a problem that everyone faces regardless of gender. There may be social beauty standards, eccentricities that are part of our culture, that we have some control over, but at the end of the day all of them are based on hard genetics. Somethings about people are intrinsically more attractive than others, and PEOPLE CAN'T CONTROL WHAT TURNS THEM ON.

In the game of genetic lottery, not everyone can be a winner. If you weren't born with an IQ of 200 and a body hot enough to melt steel beams, tough **** . That's life. Get in line with 99.99999% of the rest of the world. Some will lose. Some will be fat, autistic, social rejects that live miserable ******* lives in abject solitude. Not because they deserved it, not because society was out to get them, but because that is REALITY.

And that's why it is so easy to hate SJWs and their rhetoric. They are rejecting reality. They are crying and complaining because they didn't win. "If I can't have it, nobody should!" Why? Huh? Why do they deserve it? Why shouldn't they have to shoulder the same burdens as everyone else? Instead they want the rest of the world to redefine itself in some impossible feat of warrantless pandering.

They don't. They don't deserve it. Nobody does. They need a reality check. SJWs need to deal with the cards they were dealt, just like everybody else does. Buckle down, shut the **** up, and deal with it. Because the world doesn't owe you jack **** .

and what does that have to do with a picture of a hot woman? are you saying the very existence of hot women perpetuates this idea? if women can't stand to see pictures of other hot women without feeling like **** and starving themselves the problem is *their* self-esteem and mental condition, don't censor **** just so the short bus crowd will stop crying about it.
#88 to #43 - anon (08/08/2015) [-]
We idolize perfection for both men and women. Always have and always will. The truth is that most people just aren't perfect. Deal with it. Not much anyone can do about being born ugly. I'm happy enough just to be average.

There is no problem. It's not a problem at all. It's reality.
#55 to #43 - anon (08/08/2015) [-]
the only women who moan about beauty standards and objectification are those that are **** ugly. no one has ever said all women must look a certain way, everyone has a preference and many peoples idea of beauty are very different from one another.
User avatar #81 to #55 - mizzycupcakes (08/08/2015) [-]
I kind of disagree. I think the fashion and entertainment industry is constantly bombarding people with what they think they should look like and should wear. I actually just watched a nice little debate with Gavin Mcinnes and he pointed it out pretty clearly. 'women and gays' have pretty much created our own viscous circle of 'hey this is what beauty is'. And its a self perpetuating cycle of self esteem and body issues. For you to say that absolutely no one has held anyone up to an unrealistic standard of what beautiful is is just delusional and sort of slaps anyone in the face who has felt any type of peer pressure to look or act a certain way at some point in time in their lives. People do go through it. have gone through it. And there are assholes out there who do expect men/women to look a certain way. You know like the chicks who want the tall beefy douchebag boyfriend and the guy who wants the tall skinny supermodel woman. That stereotype that thought didn't just ******* come out of nowheresville lol sure its all super hyped up and blown out of proportion by crazy feminazis but its still a prevalent problem for EVERYONE.
User avatar #107 to #81 - mustardbater (08/08/2015) [-]
Women aren't helpless lumps of clay that need to be protected from the big bad boogeymen poisoning their frail minds. Anyone can promote whatever standard of beauty they want. Because at the end of the day each individual is a fully sentient being capable of thinking critically and making their own decisions. And that's what we should be teaching our kids. Instead of solving the problem we're trying to work around it.

Think of it like this, you have a child who doesn't play well with others, he steals toys, slaps bitches, cries when he doesn't get his way, etc. But instead of trying to solve the problem at its source - the mentality of the child - you just decide to keep him away from other kids all his life. sounds retarded right? except that's exactly what we're doing with beauty standards.

instead of solving the problem at its source - the mentality of the women who can't handle being exposed idealized beauty standards - we're just trying to ******* keep them away from idealized beauty standards all their life. Censorship runs free and nobody learns anything. Just another perpetuated branch of the victim narrative that's been slowly destroying modern society the past decade.

Yeh, but you see, they're mad because a body that is literally made with entropy and a few starting stem cells can be different drastically than another. They're shaming someone else so they don't have to worry about themselves getting the 'short end of the stick' (which work can usually overcome anyways.)
User avatar #33 to #1 - derpthefifth (08/07/2015) [-]
Thats when you realize that the whole feminist objectification of women thing isn't about women genuinely not being objectified, it's about "Other women look prettier than me and i don't like it!"
Same reason they don't like porn stars or strippers and bitch endlessly every ******* time some girl does some modeling. IT has nothing to do with the rights of the gender as a whole it's all about a bunch of fat ugly women guilt tripping anybody who looks prettier than them and has the self confidence to show it off.
User avatar #38 to #33 - dequire (08/07/2015) [-]
I have to admit, you do have a point. However. I do have to agree with the other side of the argument somewhat, as I can see the problem. Women who go into full time modeling go through some.. honestly disturbing trends and extremely rigorous beauty focuses to get where they are, and even then their photoshoots are often photoshopped out of proportion, it's ridiculous.

Doesn't mean the argument hasn't been so blown out of proportion it's painful, and it's mostly held up by women that are too lazy/unwilling to hold themselves to their own standard of beauty. ...Let's also not forget that beauty is rather perspective based, and the general standard is extremely vague and loose.

This is the opinion of a NON feminist. This is the opinion of an EQUALIST.
User avatar #41 to #38 - derpthefifth (08/07/2015) [-]
I agree.

Both sides of the argument are ****** .... dunno, maybe our society is just trying to come to a place where genuine standards of beauty come back instead of photo shopped **** and this is the result. Hell maybe it's insane in the first place that we're even trying to impose one all encompassing standard of beauty on one another to begin with, but if nothing else we could all do with a little moderation.
User avatar #42 to #41 - dequire (08/07/2015) [-]
Honestly, at this point, I believe the primary problem is moderation.

People have become so sensitive to being upset by.. ANYTHING, that they become violently angry (Racism, sexism, classism), and they only get worse over time in an attempt to "fix" or "correct" whatever makes them upset. This has lead to a large number of large groups of people fighting WAY too hard to moderate the world and what people do. Each group is trying to set a universal standard.

What's the saying? Live and let live?
User avatar #49 to #42 - derpthefifth (08/07/2015) [-]
By moderation i mean self moderation so yes.

All moderation does is create a counter culture anyway, and a lot of people are already to emotionally invested in their opinion to ever change no matter how much evidence piles up. Plus the counter culture tends to embody an even worse version of what the original people were fighting against, so in effect complaining to that extent only made the problem worse.
#101 to #33 - ainise (08/08/2015) [-]
That's a tale that's older than time. I hate to come off as sexist, but to put it simply - women are jealous of other women.
