I hear those same complaints about almost every newish game anymore though so don't really go by those complaints just saying that's what I heard.
I knew a few people that used to play it a lot but they dont' anymore because they say it sucks now.

wedgehead ONLINE (07/01/2015) [-] I haven't played the 1.3 version, but I logged nearly 250 hours on this game.
And I can tell you, I have never seen a better game to play with one or two friends in co-op.
There is a huge load of content 1.3 should make it even more now and a lot of items/weapons/spells are unique in its play style, not just an increase in numbers.
And the constant struggle to gain better gear and to slay bigger bosses is ABSOLUTELY ADDICTIVE.
If you search for a game you sometimes wanna play for a few hours, don't buy it.
But if you feel like barricading yourself with one or two friends for 3 weeks every now and then, you will probably experience one of the most unique games of the past years.
And I can tell you, I have never seen a better game to play with one or two friends in co-op.

I put literally 1444 hours into terraria and let me tell you, I stopped playing around 1.0 because I felt like I needed a break from it then came back when I heard about 1.1 and it was one of the best updates I thought they could've released. Then I heard about the mining sphere or whatever the hell it's called haven't gotten that far yet, and I lost my **** to the hype.

Fine have it your way going back to your dumb point. Your point isn't supported enough, to me TF2 multiplayer and MvM gets really repetitive and bland after a certain amount of time playing it. While with Terraria you have a large amount of things to do that isn't just the same thing over and over and over. With TF2 you get classes with a selection of meh weapons you might get sometimes or wish you got from the **** RNG. Not to mention smelting down the meager amount of drops you've gotten after even around 30 hours of playtime gets you scrap that you MIGHT be able to use if you got lucky and get a Force-A-Nature and just happen to have a Nuke Atomic Punch. I never bothered with trading because I never really had very many valuable items so you can say what you will about that tiny feature. Meanwhile with Terraria you don't have to constantly worry about whether or not a certain rare enemy drops something if you've already progressed into the game to the point where you may not need it. I'll give you this one, Mining is a pain in the ass and is one of the few things that feel like a grind in the game, but even then you still have so much more else to do in the world you've generated such as exploration, crafting which is fairly simple and easy because of the Guide NPC, and just dicking around in general. Anyway, that's my rant. Gonna go play Dota 2 or something now
