I am pretty sure he didn't mind, I bet he even thought about what you just said, thinking how stupid we would be by saying such an stupidity, he knew at every moment that people loves his work and that he won't be forgotten over time.

Nintendo is a huge company, it's success doesn't rely entirely on one man. They will be fine.

Nevertheless, Iwata did a lot for the company and for the gaming industry as a whole. No need to worry about Nintendo, for now let's just grieve.
