Hot air flows upward, which is why the balloon floats. Massive ******* hole appears in the top of the balloon because of ******* with flag. It won't "pop" like like a balloon, but it'll deflate faster than Britain's Prime Minister after seeing anything but a pig.

If you tried to do this to a balloon, nothing much would happen. The air inside is almost the same pressure, it's just warmer.

The air would leak out so slowly that you could probably keep flying that balloon indefinitely, or for however long the fuel in the burner lasted.
