Agree, because duh.
Disagree, because maybe the heat gets dissipated when it hits the helmet, and then the helmet itself suffers the full physical impact of the energy of the blast, sending it inwards, during a bit of disintegration. Enough energy left to blast the skin off, with enough shrapnel to shred the face.
But, i'm fairly certain all the guns in star wars ran on either laser or plasma, not photons.
