MFW my entire family refuses to accept that vaccines work and I had to literally sneak out and get shots without telling them

Andrew Wakefield, the doctor who's study sparked all the mom-led crusades, was found to have grossly misrepresented data and consistently warped evidence. He was stripped of his medical license, and his study was deemed an "elaborate fraud" by British medical journal BMJ (who investigated the study thoroughly). I sure wish people wouldn't endanger the health of themselves and their children after reading a caps lock fear-rant on Yahoo answers.

Why do people treat Autism as a disease? Its a disorder, I have a mild case of Aspergers and this kind of stuff annoys me.
People trying so hard to avoid having an autistic child, even if I could "cure" this disorder, I wouldn't. It helps make me who I am and I like who I am. And who I am is not a socially inept retard.

almost everyone in America gets vaccines, and when a child develops autism, they associate with the vaccines. Might as well associate taking a shower with getting cancer.

The entire "vaccines cause autism" ******** comes from the time where there was a large leap in medical knowledge. It was a correlation, not a causation. Wanna know an even stronger correlation though? Autism rates and when we started classifying about 2 dozen other things as part of the "autism spectrum".

>mfw nothing but anecdotal, unsubstantiated guesses from someone who is probably a teen

Yeah, I think I'll take that with a large grain of salt.

The pure stupidity behind thinking vaccinations cause autism is just mind blowing. I honestly wonder if you asked one of these people "Do you know how vaccinations work?" they probably couldn't answer you

if mothers looked after themselves better during pregnancy there would be less babies being born with defective brains, and science needs to haul ass to come out with ways to prevent defective babies happening so parents dont have to carry those burdens around
