The movie was *********** . God damn, probably one of the most dissappointing movie adaptations. I have a really nostalgic feeling about the books. I'm scared to read them again, because I fear that they may not be as good as I remember them.
They actually had a much more faithful adaptation of the books originally planned and the movie itself was mostly complete when the parent company got afraid that nobody would see it and they butchered it in the editing room to make it more "family friendly", leading to major parts of the movie being cut out and the finished product having a completely flimsy plot. The now-eviscerated film then performed terribly in the box office because of this and the sequels were cancelled.
Thanks a lot, New Line Cinema
Yeah, I can see that. They tried to make it a family movie and then half-way through one of the main characters ******* rips his enemy's jaw off. That ****** a bit brutal for just a family movie.
Well, at least the books are still there. And if there ever is another attempt at making a film adaptation hopefully there will be less executive meddling and no directors quitting in the middle of production only to return a year later.
I actually went to see a stage production of it when I was a kid and it was so much better than the movie. Philip Pullman did a Q&A session after it too
Thanks mate! I am going through a tough time right now and your comps are really appreciated and mood upping. Yes I'm going to comment every time in my appreciation
**zythaxx used "*roll picture*"** **zythaxx rolled image** I liked that one tooth on the left that was finally aligned after an extra few years, probably.

"Dad, there's a monster under my bed"
No, no there most probably isn't. Now go to sleep.
"But I can hear it scratching and grunting at night. I'm so scared"
Hush, sleep now
