So, does this mean there's never going to be another Metal Gear game? Or is that owned by Kojima and not Konami?

I mean, I never played them, but they seem rather popular.

Like everyone here sais, they will prolly make anotherone, but it'll be weird, most likely.
Not saying it will suck, but it will be a bad MGS, because they got nothing left.
They closed the lines from Big Boss to solid snake, and snake is living his last moments enjoying the world, or something.

Unless they do a weird-ass spin-off like Metal gear rising, which i doubt, no action characters left

well they could release a metal gear rising sequel
the ending was hinting more could happen later

Konami owns Metal Gear, and are planning to create another game, which I really have no clue how. They story is finished, the saga is over. Also, Kojima doesn't want to make another Metal Gear any more, he wants to make new stuff, which I am really excited about. I'm a huge Metal Gear fan but the dude has potential to do cool new **** .

unless they can buy metal gear from konami (so ******* highly unlikely.. there's a better chance the sun will explode tomorrow than that happening), he'll have to make something new

Konami owns MGS. They may make more games, but they won't be the same.

That's asking for trouble...

The series is owned by Konami, but I don't think there is anything stopping Kojima from creating a game that is pretty much like Metal Gear, except from characters, story, universe, etc.

I suppose that's true, but one of the key points of Metal Gear is the characters, isn't it? It'd probably be pretty hard for him to make a similar game without Snake.

The opposite. Kojima had the trouble of keeping up with the story and the characters for the consecutive games. If it was up to him the game would have ended in 1 or 2. This was the exact reason he made MGS3, an almost "clean slate" game. Sure the character looks the same but they are different in every way. I guess same could be said for 2, he tried a new character but didn't work that well hence the trick in 3.

Now that he is rid of the baggage he might be able to make an even better game.

Didn't know about that.

Guess that means it'd be easy for him to make a similar, yet very different game...

... Potentially, at least.

Critical Close-up: Metal Gear Solid 3

If you've got the time, watch this guy's videos. He explains a lot about MGS 2 and 3 and their themes. Really great to understand those games more.

What game is this? I get a very Borderlands-y feel from the graphics, which is never a bad sign.

The property is owned by Konami. But considering the route it's going as of late, there just isn't going to be a game worth a damn coming out of them from now on, Metal Gear or no. Just pachinko machines for days.
