He needs to wait for the new star wars movies to come out to find out what to rip off next

Not anon but yeah.
I've only read the first book but it's pretty obviously ripping off both Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.
I don't know if this changes in the later books and it turns into some amazing unique epic but thats what stopped me from continuing the series.

well first off i don't see that being a bad thing. Also, it's not quite that, but the whole "star wars with dragons, dwarves and elves" thing keep up, though i prefer paolini's dwarf and elf types over LOTR's. the differences are very subtle since they're...you know...dwarves and elves...but i noticed them.

i found the eragon elves fairly different than the tolkien elves, but closer to elves in lore. the dwarves were pretty much the same in my eyes.

shouldve read the whole series. the starwars get more and more diluted as the books go on. the second one sort of follows star wars and the 3rd and 4th are pretty much stand alones

Derivative, poorly written schlock.

But that's just my opinion.

I was waiting for a epic last fight with Galbatorix and a happy ending but instead i got a mlp worthy final battle and a heart wrenching ending... I still love the books though

Maybe use a spoiler i case someone is reading through the comments and then we ruin the entire ending for them.

It was actually a great ending in my opinion. It was really sad but thats what i like about it because every other book ends with the happy ending and its not always like that in real life.

The ending was so forced just to fill out the prophecy in the first book.

It would be kinda ****** up it the prophecy was not rigth.. But its was the only way they could raise the dragons without anyone having problems with it.
