Yeah, you sure got them, OP.

By using ONE picture in the face of actual scientific evidence, you have completely discredited people who claim that technology has led to more anti-social people.

Congratulations, you really blew the lid off this whole thing. I'm just so amazed at your astute observation.

printing press is one's of the most useful technology that human created
back then, it's cost hell of time to make a book and copy it.

hell can be worse

taking public transport in scandanavian countries, try talking to random people while travelling and they look at you like youre a freak

Silent public transportation is one of the best things about living in Sweden. If I had to talk to people or socialise on the bus/train every day, it would seriously make every morning a chore. I don't see the point anyway. It's mostly either early morning when everyone is virtually zombified, or the late afternoon when everyone is coming home from work. Why would you want to socialise in those states of mind?

That is still a picture showing how technology has made us antisocial...

Whenever someone says they're "anti-social" it bothers me because it has a different meaning in psychology.

Antisocial personality disorder
A disorder in which you literally can't make any meaningful relationships. Basically, you have literally no friends, even if you have friends. You see "friends" more as people who hang around you. At any moment, you might take advantage of them, because you most likely think they would do the same.
You feel no social connection to anyone. Not your parents, not your friends, no one.

The next time someone says youth today are getting more disrespectful, note this quote written over 1000 years ago:

"Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in place of exercise; they no longer rise when elders enter the room; they contradict their parents, chatter before company; gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachers.” --Socrates

My mom calls me antisocial just because I don't want to go to parties with her friends...who are 3 times my age and I'm the only young person there.

GUESS WHAT! newspapers are created by printing presses which are what? technology.

I dont get this hate on newer technology and the whole ''its making us more asocial''.
Im not riding the bus or train to make friends, i dont want to talk to people i dont know there, so i normally use my phone, read a paper, read a book some **** like that to make the time pass... that isnt being asocial, im just ******* happy that i have connection to the internet so i can surf it while riding the train, where i would normally be bored, just like i was back lets say 5-8 years ago when i also took the same train just without a phone with me, at least a phone that had connection to the internet. I just read the ****** boring magazines that were free on the trains.

And the thing about friends not talking to each other, but instead using their phones, i have never once experianced that with any of my friends, we talk on facebook/our phones/skype etc. when we arent close to each other, but whenever we are (which is often) we almost never have our phones in our hands unless someone calls us.
And those extremly few times ive seen a person with 60% of their attention at their phone and the last 40% on me, i just assumed they were a rude person by nature, just the same as people were rude in the past, now they can just use their phones while being rude...
The only annoyance i have with modern technology, is that its sometimes hard to escape, like sometimes you just want to hide for a day or a night, being by yourself, which can be hard with modern technology.
Besides that, its all good, i love this **** , i love gadgets.. and i havent once actually experianced asocial behavoir due to smartphones, at least not with any of my close friends.

i shouldnt be expected to talk to everyone i meet/see when i have nothing to say to them right then just because some old fart who if we were ever being attacked by a lion id end up outrunning tells me theres something wrong with me because i like to go on facebook and fj. were gonna end up doing this to our kids though, this isnt some new thing that our parents and grandparents are doing. some of our grandparents and even parents were teenagers when rock and roll came around and their parents absolutely despised it. now we look at rock and roll and some of us enjoy it, but some of us think its not good music. when we have children theyre gonna think our **** is stupid and were gonna think their **** is stupid. its a generation gap

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that technology helped mass produce all these newspaper.
If anyone even caresm technology is something as simple as a wheel whenever it was invented. It doesn't need to have computer components etc.

Yeah! **** the asshole who invented the printing press!

you read the news paper once and then you are done, that was the routine, go to work read the news of the day and then work. being on a phone is different.
User avatar #61 - beatmasterz (12/30/2013) [+] (11 replies)
But without technology I would be talking to people instead of being on FJ, op.
User avatar #73 to #68 - beatmasterz (12/30/2013) [-]
Which books? Without technology there wouldn't be any printed books.

So you're saying that people would keep reading that **** even when they crossed the street. Break relations because of newspaper. Kill theirselves because of newspaper-bullying and stalk people in order to blackmail them via newspapers?...OP shure was a clever piece of a guy.
