I can't even bother with fandoms any more. Anything Funnyjunk likes they will love it for a certain amount of time, and then absolutely bash it as soon as they get bored.
We can see this with furries, bronies, homestuck, steven universe etc
So ever getting into a community and expressing it on FJ turns out being very counter productive once the hate comes
People here have talked **** about all of that even when they were popular.
This site is a content-aggregator, everyone here isnt part of some ******* hive-mind. When a fandom comes up, some people like it, some people dont. How is this some sort of illogical concept?
I was more referring to the max influx of love and hate. usually with fandoms on FJ they are viewed more positive, but in a couple of months the majority hates it
I'll just copypaste this from some one elses comment.
I'm going to describe it using Skyrim.
You're running through skyrim, you run in to a bandit. That bandit attacks you, you kill the bandit. Later you run in to that bandit's family and it turns out that bandit just got fire from his job as a town guard because he revealed to the public that the Jarl was taking their tax gold and melting it down to make a statue of his cock. Nobody else will hire him because he's a wistle blower, so he had no way of providing for his family. He literally had no other choice than to resort to highway robbery to make sure his pregnant wife and 2 children and adopted argonian son had enough money to survive the winter. They try to say they understand you were just defending yourself and they leave with tears in their eyes after a discussion with you about it. You offer to donate some gold to them to which the eldest child says "no thanks, please. you've already done enough." and they vanish in the the early morning mist. Now you're left there, you feel like the absolute ******* scum of the earth. You were forced to realize that the bandit you killed was an actual person with feelings and hopes and dreams and people who loved him and you killed him and destroyed the hope of his family. You are on the verge of tears yourself and you can't take it. You re-load from a earlier save and go to where the bandit attacks and you yield. He demands all your valuables and you use persuasion to ask him why he's doing this. Breaking down in to tears he tells you his story about his family and his job and why. You out of the kindness of your heart give him 1000 septims to help him and his family get back on their feet. He thanks you and tells you he is in your debt and then runs off to meet his family. You smile, knowing you did good...then Alduin. ******* ALDUIN shows up. Lands right in front of you and laughs in your face. "I know what you did. You killed him, butchered him when all he was doing was trying to provide for his wife and kids. And you couldn't take it so you rewound time and spared him. You naive idiot." Alduin, having obtained a 4th-wall breaking understanding of how the save function works flies off, leaving you questioning the very integrity of your being. Questioning your very morality. And now you can't look at any character the same ever again. All you see is an innocent merely trying to make their way in the world. Even the evil ones, every time you kill you feel worse and worse and worse about yourself. Until the only sensible option is to delete Skyrim, reinstall it, and then mod it so you can play the entire thing without harming anybody. All so you can get that gnawing feeling of absolute regret at the horrors you have brought upon innocent people out of your skull and you can feel like a decent human being once more.
Tries way too hard to be funny and actually does a piss poor job describing a game. Sacrifices accuracy for hyperbole, relies on referencing a hugely successful meme game to pander to the lowest common denominator. It'd fit right in with those "hilarious" steam reviews.
Don't know why people are thumbing you down or saying that "you're trolling".
I agree with you complete.
Says nothing about gameplay, music, story, characters or anything about the actual game.
Only talks about "Oh my feels, oh my 4th walls, oh so different than mainstream gaems".
People like it only because they already played the game and it made them smile because they understood what he was talking about, meanwhile people who haven't played the game got no useful information about it and probably have a different idea about it now.
Reviews are supposed to give you information about the game, even if they are supposed to funny, meanwhile this just says "Yeh, the game is pretty sad. You can reload save points too and the game knows you did it... yup...:
This **** is almost as bad as game trailers that dont show actual gameplay
It's basically an RPG with bullet hell-styled combat mechanics and an 8-bit soundtrack. The story is that humans and intelligent monsters once lived in harmony, but then a war broke out and the humans, upon winning, used magic to seal up the monsters in an underground...'world', for lack of a better word. There's a barrier that prevents monsters from going back aboveground, but it doesn't prevent humans from entering the undergound, so occasionally a human will fall through the barrier. You play as a human who falls through the barrier and then goes on a quest to try and get back home, meeting and (potentially) befriending a number of monsters along the way, while fending off other monsters who want to kill you and take your soul.
Anything I say now is going to be tainted by the specter of Tumblr now thanks to that comment but what the hell. I COULD have gone into detail about just how stupid his comment was but I honestly couldn't be bothered. Warlockrichard wrote an incredibly apt and relatable commentary of Undertale and was rewarded with thumbs for it. Tittylovin wrote a three sentence bashfest for no real reason and never tried to correct whatever falsehoods he thought he saw and was rewarded with red thumbs for it. I think if we all actually told people being stupid to shut the **** more often we would all be better off. I'm tired of letting the idiots and assholes get away with crap just because no one wants to be "that guy" or to cause a scene.
You think he is right, i think he is wrong and warlockrichard is right. I don't either of us changing the others mind. I will just point out that more people seem disagree with tittylovin then agree with him. To each their own.
Thumb him down all you want, but I've played the game and watched play-throughs and he's right. This is a poor explanation that tried too hard to be funny.
A "muh feelings" game would be a game that forces the mood by changing the overall nature of the scene.
What makes this game powerful is that it doesn't do that, it doesn't force guilt or sadness down your throat. You will be the one who feels guilty or sad about it; you had a choice, and you took a legitimate option to solve it, but somewhere down the line, even if they don't tell you outright, you will discover someone who was hurt by your choice if you took the easy way out.
The music neither stops nor changes to accommodate the emotions; the game never breaks a beat, and only two characters will ever try to guilt you. The only time the game ever changes its mood is if you're playing a genocide run, in which case it drops nearly every single silly element.
I don't know about reloading the save part, I mean, you did offer to help the bandit's family initially after learning how rough things were. Doesn't change what happened but at least it makes it right in the end by giving the bandit what he really wanted.
It's only 9.99 on steam, at this point if you have a credit card it would be irresponsible not to try it, I mean you're going to be hearing about it anyway.
I'll admit the 'irresponsible' part wasn't needed, but you didn't have to be an asshole.
It's a nice game too btw, if you really feel like playing it , but don't want to buy it for some reason just pirate it.
it's not a matter of price as to why i'm not buying it, i know that a 10 dollar game is cheap compared to most releases today.
i got annoyed at the implication that because it's cheap, I SHOULD buy it. well there's a ton of cheap **** on steam that isn't worth my money, and if Undertale doesn't interest me (which it honestly doesn't), then I'm most likely not going to play it.
Oh for ***** sake, why don't I go buy you a ******* bucket to cry into, since clearly all the commercials on TV must be painfully hurting you're delicate little feelings you twat, you seemed interested in your post that's why I thought I'd mention the price and where you can get it, I also mentioned the steam train if you were unsure, that's ******* free bitch, last time I try and be helpful.
Steven Universe is overhyped, Legend of Korra was overhyped, Jesus Christ was overhyped, and literally every other popular thing ever to exist was overhyped, yes. Water is also wet and fire also burns, as long as we're stating the obvious. Kinda curious as to why you felt the need to bring Steven Universe up, though, considering it's mentioned literally nowhere in the content.
It contains the first dungeon, the main gameplay as well as the first boss you face in the game. If you like what you see, then feel free to buy the full game on Steam for $10. If you don't like it, then that's okay. At least you gave it a try before you decided you did not like it.
Kinda like Touhou Mother, same style, only it's free. It does require you to have a general idea on things about Touhou, and an added bonus for spotting all the references to games throughout the history
1) its not free
2) its overhyped and kids post tumblr fanart here FJ doesn't have fanart people so we steal everything from other sites
3) its a children's game suited best for years 7 - 15
goat mom dies, papyrus dies, flower from beginning will be final boss in end
Its a game, also the next cool thing apparently. Its pretty good to be honest, Combat is pretty mechanically unique and there is some fun to be had. but the community is for lack of better word "bleh"
You fell in a hole in a mountain, now you're in the Ruins. Goat mom tries to keep you safe from the danger outside the Ruins. I don't want to spoil the rest, but I'll say you don't have to kill and/or fight any monsters except for one near the very end.
As you can guess, you'll either be making friends or enemies. If YOU don't kill any monsters and actively try to be a friend, you'll get the true happy ending. If you go out your way to kill every. single. monster... well, you're gonna have a bad time.
