To be honest, the starting weps are plenty good on their own, especially the Hunter Axe and the Saw Cleaver, but the weapons you get throughout the game aren't too bad, like the Chikage, the Reiterpallascht, the Evelyn, etc, but the Burial Blade is the coolest one of them all.

gabrielcortez (08/09/2015) [-] I found Dark Souls to be uninteresting to be honest. Gameplay got repetitive, after 8 hours the story hadn't picked up much so there was little that hooked me to it and the gameworld felt too much like a mishmash themepark which made little sense. The controls also felt a bit wacky to me, in order to do a heavy forward jumping attack with my halbeard I had to chuck the left analogue stick forward and hit the attack button precisely, if I chucked the analogue stick just a little degree to the left or right then it wouldn't hit the enemy and if I was a nanosecond too fast or too slow with the attack then the character wouldn't perform the attack. I've heard that the characters you encounter are supposed to have personal stories and I've heard that the ending is great but after 8 hours I didn't get anything at all to hook me.
All it amounted to what running around, killing repetitive enemies with repetitive attacks for souls that could easily be lost by the game just throwing some new unknown **** at me that I couldn't possibly defend myself against and die, and if I fail to retrieve it when I respawn and die again then those souls are lost.
I didn't like it. There was nothing that really screamed "amazing" to me at all.
All it amounted to what running around, killing repetitive enemies with repetitive attacks for souls that could easily be lost by the game just throwing some new unknown **** at me that I couldn't possibly defend myself against and die, and if I fail to retrieve it when I respawn and die again then those souls are lost.

gcloud ONLINE (08/09/2015) [-] im pretty sure u can buy it on the ps4 shop or something. i remember it was a free download for the ps3 at one point. very atmospheric, alot of people say more so then dark souls, and i can mostly agree to that, but theres always gonna be something about dark souls i find more filling then demon souls. Maybe it's cuz i played dark souls before demon souls and you know what they say, theres always something special about ur first time.

I dont get why your getting red thumbed. Dark Souls 2 had inconsistent direction during development, Demon Souls was mechanically clunky, Bloodborne's fast paced gameplay was the most exciting of all the games and the first Dark Souls was a flawed masterpiece. Despite not being perfect they're all incredible fun
