No, that's the "Burgerpocket" Americans have evolved after decades of unhealthy fast food.

You see,
they are like hamster who put everything in there mouth for later but since the average Amerilard has not so big and fluffy puffy cheeks like a hamster they have to save it in the belly where it coexists in the place a baby would be.

Isn't so bad if it weren't for the EU's immigration policy because people come to exploit benefits and healthcare while being leeches protected by leftists and liberals who immediately pull the Racist card.

>terrible for an economy
I think economically Scandinavia, Germany, Austria , France and etc. are doing pretty good.

Can't be worse than having Detroit.

Detroit is ****** up BECAUSE of social programs.

Each of those countries has a freer market than the US (with the exception of Austria). Germany has less social programs despite the universal healthcare AND have a cultural work ethic on top of it, along with Austria. Denmark, Norway, and Sweden's social welfare programs come from a surplus created under decades of freer markets and lower amounts of social programs, and are able to function very well because of low amounts of Government corruption and high amounts of economic freedom.

And France is not doing well at all economically. Double digit reported unemployment, 0% growth, and a significant budget deficit (even worse than the deficit here in the US). Hardly prosperous if you ask me. They're paying for the prosperity they had a few years ago as it was all borrowed money. There was hardly any real growth in France if there was any at all.

EU says a regular cucumber must have in a certain degree angle and there are much more silly laws and **** tons of BIO/non-GMO laws so there's that for a free market.

>And France is not doing well at all economically
Well, **** didn't know that and looked it up 10% unemployment rate the average European unemployment rate per country is 5-8% while Russias latest one is 4.9% according to Trading Economics.

Try opening a business in the US. I dare you. It's almost impossible due to the amount of regulation (depending on what business you go into).

And yeah, they were doing very well for a while in France, but the politicians have been publicly lying about the deficit for a while if I remember correctly and the prosperity was due to a huge chunk of borrowed/printed money a few years ago that they're now paying for in real terms the employment rate is technically 10%, but between temporary part time jobs and those not participating in the labor force it's probably a lot higher.

I do see some problems with immigrating to Scandinavia...
1. People do not usually speak English.
2. Winter.
3. Celsius is confusing to me.
4. Plane tickets are too expensive and passenger liners are practically nonexistent nowadays.
5. On same supercontinent as Ebola.

0*C = freezing point of water at sea level, 100*C = boiling point of water at sea level. *C= *F-32 x (5/9). Celsius transitions to Kelvin pretty easy too. 0K = absoule zero = -273.15*C. 0 *C=273.15K, 100*C = 373.15K

I actually live in Austria and not Scandinavia but it's pretty much the same

1. English is mandatory in school everyone should be able to speak basic english
2. Austria's Winter is short
3. Celsius is really easy at zero degree Celsius and lower it can go minus Celsius which is pretty much Winter water begins to freeze 15°c is like Spring, 20°to 40°c is summer , autumn is minus to 10°c and Winter is pretty much everything under 10° -20°c top
4. If you have money problems with a plane ticket than it would do you really good to live here since the state helps out a lot

Something something you do pay for it via taxes something.

Though when the hospitals are being payed directly through the government it's easier for all parties involved than individuals (or many different insurance companies) trying to deal with each hospital.

See it like that :

Some families I know would break down if they'd receive a 200€ bill but since you don' t have to "directly" pay for anything when you go to the doctor, the hospital or need expensive medicine.

Well, only my dad who is currently on holidays in Finnland (we are living in Austria) works server maintaining & network administrator my mom is always caring for the house and little brother home and we currently life in a 3 story house house was freshly build before we moved in approximately 5 years ago with a really big garden we have trees, berries, forest & stuff on our property & pool.
I can save over 45€ a week from school money and when I go out with friends I always get 20-30€

Neither of my parents were rich or had rich parents themselves. My dad did high school + university main subject chemistry in HS and even studied chemistry in the university before learning how to network/information technology via books. My mom was pregnant with my older sister 24 , I'm 19

I'm not sure my dad could afford all this for us if the income were cut in half by taxes

Education is also fully free, no students dept etc.
I know that the taxes are high but money not spent on hospitals & education go into the economy too because people will spent that money and the state makes money duo taxes on products etc. also we over military has very very low funding even though military service is mandatory in Austria but it's okay in a Neutral country

Doubt.jpg

I admit that my knowledge regarding American health system is lacking, but I do not believe that this is real - despite that it's quite outlandishly expensive to get treatment (certain treatment at least) there.

Anyone got source on this? Or able to back me up.

From what I understand, it's a cycle where individual patients sometimes aren't able to pay, and insurance companies aggressively haggle down the prices, so hospitals inflate the prices to help recoup the losses and have a higher starting point for the haggling insurance companies, which leads to more people being unable to pay and the insurance companies haggling even more aggressively....etc. etc.

I had a hard time believing it too. I'm an american who went to the ER and got a tetanus shot and 4 stitches for a cut and it cost me $900, not $9000. It cost me money instead of my insurance provider because my insurance is set up so there is no co-pay, but a $1,000 deductible.

A New Jersey teacher said he was charged nearly $9,000 after he showed a cut middle finger to a hospital emergency room aide.

Baer Hanusz-Rajkowski said he went to the Bayonne Medical Center last August after he cut his finger with a hammer and thought he needed stitches. He didn’t. Instead he was sent home after he got a tetanus shot from a nurse practitioner who also sterilized the cut, applied some antibacterial ointment to it, and put a bandage on it.

Then he got the bill: $8,200 for the emergency room visit, $180 for the shot, $242 for the bandage and $8 for the ointment, plus hundreds of dollars for the nurse practitioner.

"I got a Band-Aid and a tetanus shot. How could it be $9,000? This is crazy," Hanusz-Rajkowski told NBC 4 New York Wednesday.

The hospital’s CEO Mark Spektor told the station Hanusz-Rajkowski’s visit cost so much because his insurance carrier United Healthcare refuses to offer fair reimbursement rates.

But United Healthcare responded by saying the hospital was just trying to gouge its members.

Linda Schwimmer of the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute said the right price for getting a finger bandaged should be $400 to $1,000.

She told NBC that New Jersey needs a public database showing the average price for medical procedures.

looking at this I can see that most of the cost was for wasting the doctors time in the ER than the actual care, which makes sense, those doctors are there for medical emergencies not cuts. and the price WAS less than $400

Sure, except it was likely on a rusted item, which is why he requested a Tetanus shot. But yeah, he shouldn't waste his local nurses time until he contracts Tetanus, you're right.

the ER is for things where you will die if not treated in 20 minutes, he could easily go to a regular doctor be seen in 10 minutes get taken care of and be out with a bill of less than $2,000. and they gave him the shot because tetanus shots are standard procedure even if you didn't cut yourself on something rusty

You're wrong.

The ER has 2 sections. Exam and Trauma. Trauma is what you are thinking about with super bad injuries that are life and death and require doctors and medical professionals to to everything they can to save lives.

Exam, is where you go when you injure yourself and your doctor office is passed hours, or its on a weekend. this is normally charged by RN's, NA's and CNA's to handle the booboo's of the general public.

If you call up for ANYTHING to the ER, even a ******* paper cut. they will tell you to come in so they can look at it. It is a horrible idea to wait for something to get life threatening until you seek medical attention for it. Waiting to get tetanus before you go to the emergency room or any other kind of medical attention is just plain dumb and horrible advice to give someone.

fact of the matter is, if you do not have any formal medical training, you SHOULD NOT try to judge the severity of your own injuries. Because you are just not qualified.

<---- Was a Phlebotomist that worked in the ER.

There are a lot of things about Norway that I do not like, but I am thankful for our health care system. Despite that we pay "more in taxes" for it, also get a very high income, so it's fine. Victim of a hit and run, lower spine, shoulder and leg injury. I don't even want to think about how much money I would be in debt / spent if it was in America.

A guy I worked with went to the ER years ago, only to be transferred to a hospital because it turned out that he was diabetic, and they had to get his sugar under control, and make sure that it stayed low enough to send him home. He stayed there for about to weeks, owed $50,000 dollars, and is still paying it off.

but what is great, is since you pay more in taxes for it, that means paying the yearly taxes is less than it would be if you paid for each time you needed medical attention.

Our taxes is not only for medical things though, police, fire department, road etc. My current monthly income is about $5k - quite well paying job, but not even a five days a week position at the moment. That is after taxes, the taxes that is taken before it's on my account isn't too much in comparison, and I get quite a lot back on taxes every year anyway.

So yea, it is great in my opinion - especially given my injuries and how much medical aid I've needed.
