but america is for americans.

When you come to live in this great country, you're no longer German. You're no longer italian, irish, polish, indian, japanese, chinese, african, british, greek or any other word for it. You're an american. Some one who believes that one should be able to produce enough for themselves, by themselves. Where hard and smart work is looked gladly upon and is rewarded its due. Where people aren't what they came from, but what they build and work for. Too few in and out of this country realize this, and the world suffers for it by bigoted idiots on all sides of all borders.

So america is actually in fact, for americans.

Whats funny is people think we're against others coming to America. When we're only against people coming here illegally.

America is the most ethnically and culturally diverse nation in the world.

A fact not lost on even our most rednecked, nascar loving, jesus freaks.

When we say "Murica is fer Muricans" we aren't meaning only white, christian, middle class majority.
We are meaning people who come to this country LEGALLY, who contribute to American society, and add to our cultural mixing pot.

What we don't what is the flood of illegal and or culturally hostile immigrants who have no desire to either contribute to American society or adapt to the established culture.

Rather they abuse our social and public services while demanding we adapt to suit them. Thats grand scale douche-baggery in any country.

The idea that America should be for Americans has nothing to do with not appreciating goods produced in other countries. Guess what, France, the UK, Germany, Spain, Mexico, and any other country you can think of also have laws that dictate what non-citizens can do in their country and for how long.

Just because the UK sells Sony speakers, it doesn't mean Japanese people can show up, get jobs, and register to vote.

We aren't against people coming here. We're against people coming here illegally. There's a ******* process. Guess what? Everyone who showed up in New York during the turn of the century did it. The Irish who came here went through the lines and did their paperwork. The Italians waited and got their papers. The Germans did everything by the numbers.

It is not the fact that people are coming. It is the fact that people are jumping over fences, coming in undocumented and without any formal process, and then taking jobs and living space that could go to people who weren't breaking the law that pisses us off. There are perfectly respectable upstanding people who want to immigrate and are going through the process, and it is an insult to all of them that illegal immigrants should be rewarded for breaking the law and ignoring the due process by simply showing up and demanding employment and housing. That takes jobs and living space away from actual Americans.

That's what it is. That's what all these new proposals about giving illegals a drivers license are about. It's about rewarding bad behavior, and it's motivated purely by a political desire to tap into illegal immigrants as a voting bloc. It's absolutely disgusting political maneuvering, and I hope they fail.

what's the difference between america and a yoghurt?
if you leave a yoghurt alone for 200 years, it'll develop culture.

So we take the best of anything from each country and combine it into a one glorious nation. This is why we are the greatest.

This is pretty accurate while giving off an entirely false idea. When an American says "American", they don't mean a white, middle class, Christian. We mean someone who lives here and became a citizen legally (now's the time when people add in the comment about the origins of America), not illegally. Believe it or not, America is one of the most accepting countries in the world in terms of other cultures and ethnicities..

I like that America has all these different cultures, It's allowed me to experience so many different things without having to travel so far. In my city alone, I've hung out with Mexicans and had legit Mexican food, gone to a German bar and tried some homestyle German food, was introduced to Russian rappers, and hung out with some pretty chill people from the UK. You can experience Chinese culture in New York or Irish culture in Boston. I like to think that all of these different cultures, ideas, religions, and races coexisting in one place is what makes America. Yea there's racism and bigotry, but that hasn't ultimately stopped America from being a "melting pot" that allows Americans to be around different cultures every day, rather than just on vacation.
User avatar #8 - pfccross (08/11/2014) [-]
because as it should be fundamentally is made up of the many different races and religions that are looking for a better life. A society made from everyone for everyone. We are all Americans.

and then there are those darn commies...
