Was really hoping he tripped over the chains at the end...

probably did during the first 10 takes

Seriously an awesome movie for misanthropes.

Some of the points they make are a little obvious though, and his imagining of exploding the baby kinda contradicted his pretentious rants.

Damn this was such a great movie.
User avatar #35 to #1 - bongybalogna (08/13/2014) [-]
it really wasnt that good of a movie. it was just justice porn turned into a feature-length film and some kind of half-assed story thrown in there to make it some kind of movie.
#62 to #35 - illogicalvulcan (08/13/2014) [-]
While you have a point it was an entertaining film and with movies like this it is its first priority to entertain and that in that aspect, for some and maybe most, it succeeded. Therefore, by my definition; Its a good movie.

Indeed, i loved the end
and the movie theater scene
User avatar #11 to #8 - guiguito (08/13/2014) [-]
The end is the movie theater scene no?
Anyways i kinda found it depresing, a too real picture of us and **** , good thing i don't live in 'murica
User avatar #14 to #11 - carnivoreapples (08/13/2014) [-]
no, the end was the finale of the idols-ish show
User avatar #15 to #14 - guiguito (08/13/2014) [-]
Now i remember, and the dude spared that chick who was silent and thanked her, it's just that in my mind that idols-ish thingy was also in a theater.

now I don't have to see it
now I don't have to see it
User avatar #44 to #32 - ThatsSoFunnyHeHe (08/13/2014) [-]
That isn't a spoiler at all. It's like a 4 second scene with a character who has no relevance outside of those 4 seconds.
User avatar #33 to #32 - guiguito (08/13/2014) [-]
Why? While i don't particulary recomend seeing this movie anyways, the theater scene ins't a major plot thread and it is never mentioned again, you can chill it won't matter much if you go see it with this information.

I think it was supposed to be a reverse-trope on how there is always a "good" ending in Hollywood, so there wasn't one in the film. It chose a more grounded route without "Hollywood magic and now everything is fine" twist. Haven't seen the movie in a long time. They both die in the end, right? If so, I'm making sense. Gif unrelated but I wanted to share.

nah it was a fairly obvious parody of bonnie & clyde
User avatar #61 to #59 - mistafishy (08/13/2014) [-]
Except Bonnie and Clyde were lovers, not a 40 year old man and a teenager. Totally different.
User avatar #64 to #61 - bettercaulsaul (08/13/2014) [-]
did you not watch the movie? they repeatedly compared themselves to bonnie & clyde even got clothes and **** to make themselves resemble them
User avatar #65 to #64 - mistafishy (08/13/2014) [-]
I know, but the fact is that they're not Bonnie and Clyde. Their relationship is totally different, even if the crime spree is the same.
User avatar #45 to #43 - mcmental (08/13/2014) [-]
That could be True. Good Point.
User avatar #37 - bongybalogna (08/13/2014) [-]
you guys only liked it because it was trying so god damn hard to be edgy and you agree with the social commentary that was compiled into a ****** movie
#40 to #37 - quattrocandella (08/13/2014) [-]
I had to stop watching it because of the scene where they circle jerk about how old school music is the best and how the music of today is trash. It reminded me of a youtube comment you would find on a music video for miley cyrus or some **** . By far the edgiest movie of the century , I had to login just so I could tell you how much I agreed with you
User avatar #42 to #37 - alhiniath (08/13/2014) [-]
I don't think you use the word edgy correctly.
User avatar #51 to #42 - bongybalogna (08/13/2014) [-]
whats the right way to use the word edgy then?
User avatar #54 to #51 - alhiniath (08/13/2014) [-]
God knows. Using the word edgy instead of excited or maybe tense, would just cause confusion on the web.

"He was edgy."

For me that means, he was tense or excited. What does it mean for you?
#49 to #42 - captaincapital (08/13/2014) [-]
I think YOU should look up what edgy really means..

question. if someone would summon you, will you just say "Its magic, I ain't gonna explain **** " or actually try to explain magic?
User avatar #67 to #39 - magicexplain (08/14/2014) [-]
Depends on how stupid the question is

Big fan of 'Super' so I thought I'd really like this movie but, nope.

If you took an overweight man who spent all of his time on the internet complaining about how much he looked down on the 'lesser minds' in society and how sad he was that he never met an intellectual equal was, and turned that man into a movie it would've been God Bless America. It's basically wish fulfilment for smart narcissists.

greatest movie.

I enjoyed the movie overall. However, I did have problems with the message and morality and blah blah blah.
The ending did bother me, particularly with the young girl. Hard to explain without going into spoiler territory, but her joining him on that stage and letting things end like that... Totally didn't have to do it. I got a little depressed seeing a young person be so wreckless with their own life.

Well, I'm gonna go anon so I don't drown in a sea of red thumbs for saying this, but I can totally see where the girl is coming from. How her life was, or at least how she explained it, sounded extremely similar to my situation when I was fifteen. Seemingly smarter than most other kids, hating how bland life could be. Having all of your teachers and parents put you on a set path. It's all so **** , and I can't blame her for doing what she did. For a time, I just didn't give a **** anymore, so I just did what I wanted, and let whatever happened, just happen. For ****** sake, man, I was an honor roll student, an athlete, and I was taking piano lessons. Every time I didn't do something my parents or teachers wanted, (which wasn't often) I was scolded, and it was a miserable existence. If I had such an opportunity, I probably would've done the same thing she did.
User avatar #66 to #56 - cremacious (08/13/2014) [-]
To me, when he hands her the gun and they begin firing, that is him saying, "Die with me" He should have pushed her away or something because he cares about her, and when you care about someone you don't want them to die.

That is just my two cents. Agree or disagree.
User avatar #12 - bluestrawberry (08/13/2014) [-]
He didn't get the kills... Other people got kills. He just sat in his chair.
He killed people in world war 1.
Counter must be wrong.

User avatar #20 to #19 - bluestrawberry (08/13/2014) [-]
Hitler fought in WWI
He didn't fight in WWII aka no kills
He can't have gotten that many kilss in WWI
The counter (content) is wrong.

I understand the first three lines, I just don't get how a man killing a teenger relates or argues the contrary, also how does counter = content??

it's seriously god bless america. Watch it and you'll see the title at the beginning. After watching it you'll see why they chose not to capitalise it.

Such a ******* film though
