truth noun \ˈtrüth\
the truth : the real facts about something : the things that are true

: the quality or state of being true

: a statement or idea that is true or accepted as true

There's my definition.
My question is, has the truth ever been racist?
The Bell Curve, Melanin levels, Bone structure differentials, is all of that made up to you because it does not coincide with what you establish as truth?

All truth is subjective, as all consciousness is subjective. For example, 2+2=4. Unless, of course, you disregard euclidean geometry and try to use quantum mechanics to determine the validity of mathematics. Then, 2+2 could potentially equal sandwich. Most of the world believes there is one god (the side stuff being irrelevant for this assertion). There is no evidence of such a being, but it is accepted across most of the world as the absolute truth. People who don't agree are the most universally hated people on earth.

The "truth" itself can never be "racist", rather, different people's interpretation of said truth can wind up being racist. Is it racist to say that there is far more black on white crime than white on black crime in the united states? No. Is it racist to take that to mean that black people are uncivilized subhumans? **** yes it is.

No scientist worth their salt would claim that there is anything which is absoutely true. What they will say is that there are things so repeatedly provable that contradicting assertions are not worth the same amount of consideration.

the state of quantum objects has been shown to change based solely on whether or not they are being observed. This alteration can only be measured based on it's effect to something else being observed while you do not observe the original quantum particle. As such, for all we know, we could take 2 observed particles and add them to two unobserved particles, and it could become practically anything while not observed, even a sandwich. Math is great for the macro world, and has been wonderful in helping humans to understand the natural world, but math doesn't work correctly when dealing with the quantum world because euclidean geometry (the basis of all mathematics) utterly breaks down at that scale.

No, we're not talking about atomic particles. This isn't 2p+2p=4p which may, somehow equal sandwich.
This is 2 plus 2.
Numerals, values on a linear scale.
Stop with your retarded speculation.

my implication is that truth is subjective based on circumstance. Yes, 2+2=4 if you can apply euclidean geometry to that calculation. However, there exists a circumstance wherein you CANNOT apply euclidean geometry. Therefore, 2+2=4 cannot be considered an absolute, boolean truth regardless of circumstance. That is the basis for why scientists do not consider boolean logic to be applicable to the natural world.

Maybe I went too far with my metaphors and it ****** my argument up, but that's what I was saying.

ok you're not getting it. I'm telling you that the truth can NEVER be racist, only people's interpretations of it can be. Truth itself is subjective based on the party observing it. That is my point. I'm not "making ridiculous claims based on humanity's ability to comprehend the universe" I'm making claims backed by experiment and observation as to the non-absolute nature of everything in the universe, and the impracticality of applying a boolean view of true or false to anything, much less a fluid concept like an emotional distaste for other races.

Whatever, I shouldn't have gone so deep, I should have just said "No". Sorry for wanting to tell you about something I find interesting.

On a side note, I never took philosophy. My argument was based on some elective courses on quantum mechanics I took getting my degree in microbiology. To me, philosophy seemed like the kind of thing you study if you're either 1: a pretentous asshole who wants a piece of paper to in some way legitimize being a douche, or 2: something you study if you are dissatisfied with your worldview. Not a fan.

Everyone has a right to discuss politics because it affects their daily lives. The only issue is when people get aggressive/refuse to back down/ refuse to admit they're wrong and generally be assholes. true. In America since we only have 2 parties (that have any chance of getting elected) conservative and republican are frequently seen as synonymous, which is of course not true. However when virtually all conservatives vote republican, and liberals democrat, it is generally a fair statement.

I mean **** you I have to right to my opinion. It's crap like this that screws over caucasians.Especially if you're male.

To make the situation even more **** its mostly other caucasians that jump with pitchforks and torches at the slightest sign of racism.

We should either kick all these hippies out of europe(I'd say out of the US too but that's kinda where we ****** up and I admit it) along with their growing(as in, going to be a majority in a few decades in OUR own countries) "diversity" or make ourselves some kind of caucasian utopia and watch as they get eaten alive......oh I meant CULTURALLY ENRICHED yeah that's right!(sorry for the rant I'm just extremely ******* bored and pissed at the current situation in europe)

yeah white people have done bad things to other races in the past but that in no way justifies turning white culture into living in eternal shame and guilt for it all and spending forever apologizing for it

america is forever saying sorry to africans, australia is forever saying sorry to the aboriginees, new zealand to the maori, england to the indians and pakis, germany is forever saying sorry to the world,

if anyone bothered to actually check the global statistics they see white man is a minority now...the africans, indian and chinese each outnumber white people....but do white people get any minority sympathy....no

it's not a new word. It also doesnt stand for comfortable in skin, 'cis' is literally the antonym of 'trans'

Fair point.
Though I do think "cisgender" is a neologism.

Having lived in the Southeastern United States my entire life, the majority of people opposed to Obama at all here are Racists/Bigots. At least through personal experience, I know this because they can't tell me a single policy, but they can call him a porch-monkey, liberal socialist fascist(I wutted at that one), and a non american muslim all the time. I would just take that as being slightly racist/bigoted.

I'm not saying there aren't people who oppose Obama because they're racist, but it is utterly idiotic to claim that it's racist simply to oppose Obama or his policies.

I fully understand what you mean, but it seems more often than not, especially from Fox News and a lot of the uneducated populace, that they have no idea about what he stands for, so it boils down to either them hating them because he is blue, or brown.

More often blue than brown, I think. Didn't see a lot of racism against Herman Cain.

very true, but I feel that they might have only gave Cain a pass because of his red, it is a possibility.

For those of you who don't get the comic, (I'm pretty sure it) means that when a Liberal (as seen on shirt) is faced with something they don't understand or support (the inkblots), they immediately assume they are simply a bad or intolerant person.

>TFW you're a Nazi sympathizer and people interpret that as "I want all jews to die"

I can't support national socialism, because it essentially constructs a prison for it's citizens. It's a visible prison, and many people may like the security and certainty it can provide, but the downside is human nature. Humans are each a different existence, with different thoughts, beliefs, concepts of justice, hopes, dreams, etc, so to force an absolutist conformity on all people in your country for their own safety and stability I simply cannot endorse.

But maybe that's just because I still have some faith left in humans. If we were Vulcans, National Socialism would be an amazing system, the concept is incredibly logical and if it were executed correctly I think it would generate unbelievable prosperity and progress, and the good of the many would always outweigh the needs of the few. Like ants, we would essentially exist as a singular superorganism, dominating all in our path. Unfortunately, so long as we are human most people are unwilling exist like a slave circuit for a complex machine, we're all just too different from one another. That's why even the greatest national socialist empire I've ever heard of, Warhammer 40k's representation of humanity, finds itself constantly besieged by elements unwilling to conform to it. It's dark, it's beautiful, but it's just the wrong choice for creatures that have their own individual consciousness.

Picture sums up my comment pretty well.

Perhaps you are correct, but even so that has more to do with a mind-set than actual slavery. Look at many Eastern Nations, which have the "You're a cog in a grand machine" mind-set and many of them are quite happy with that, it doesn't dull their individuality, nor do they seem to hate their lives. The difference is that in Western Culture we try to appeal more to the individual while in Eastern Culture they try to appeal to the group as a whole.

Yes, many people would be of that mindset, and it would be the state's job to promote that mindset as much as possible, and if humans were purely logical beings it would work beautifully.

Unfortunately, we are as limited by our humanity as we are empowered by it, and very few humans are truly capable of giving themselves over completely to the hive mentality. There will always be that lingering doubt, that question. More importantly, there will always be the possiblity that a person who is evil will gain power, and when you have power in a national socialist government, you have ******* POWER. That much power in the hands of evil, or even in the hands of someone generally good when human nature is to become corrupted by power, will inevitably end poorly for humans.
