For those saying you didn't see it on the news:

Not many news organizations are covering this, but the news is spreading to use from our European friends that want to keep us in the loop. I learned of these events from my good friend in the Netherlands.

Also, don't feel any worse for not knowing what's going on over there. It's mostly our own society that doesn't want us to know about this. Notice how I didn't say government, but our society. You should try to keep YOURSELF informed instead of relying on news stations to bring it to you.

For any moron down in the comments that is willing to defend the rotten & criminal Ukrainian Government:

Shooting to people in Kiev / Стральба па пратэстоўцах у Кіеве. (20.02.2014, APTN)

Those are UNARMED PROTESTERS being SHOT WITH WAR AMMO! By Ukrainian Special Forces!

If you agree with this, please do humanity a favor and run in front of the nearest speeding truck!

Also, the police force has been cut off from the news, so they mostly assume that they're on the good side of these riots. That's their job, it's not like they want to be killing their fellow countrymen. Those riot police that were captured by the rioters were either brutally murdered or looted and then badly beaten.

"Those riot police that were captured by the rioters were either brutally murdered or looted and then badly beaten"

Because they have raised their hand against the people, to protect an extremely corrupt political force.
I'd say they fully deserve it.

The Riot Police in Italy, during a protest from a few months ago, sided with the protesters.

Because they remembered that their oath is to the people, not to those running the state.
And in this case, the state and the Police are the enemy of the people, due to the completely unjustified violent actions.

What you see and hear about Police being burned alive by molotovs are RETALIATIONS to the brute force that was first used 1 month ago. Until then, the protests were peaceful.

I'm glad the gravity of the situation is finally making headlines.
The Berkut is firing live rounds into crowds of protesters and from what I've heard, there's a group of what amounts to mercenaries on the other river preparing to reinforce them.
The situation is escalating beyond what the Ukrainian people can be expected to deal with and people are just going to keep dying unless someone else steps in.

Great. Let's pay attention to what the Berkut are finally doing to defend themselves and control the situation and ignore the fact that the "peaceful protesters" have been shooting at them, beating the **** out of them, and throwing molotov cocktails not only at government buildings and property, but also at regular policemen, Berkut officers, and even border control officers who shouldn't be there in the first place.

Pic related.

Poor ukranians. They are being puppeteered. On one side you have west pooling strings, on other you have Russians. Only option fraction that is fighting only for Ukrainian goals are ultra nationalist. So basicly they have to ``pick`` beatween 3 evils.

I know thing or two about this. You see, Serbia was in similar situation in 2000. There was civil uprising and with relativly little blood shed we have removed president from power (1 person died I belive) and got our self prowestern govermant.....and they didnt do us a lot of good

Yeah, he is so great he finally gave up his socialistic, moronic ideas and started listening to investors and business owners on how to get France out from near-bankruptcy.

I couldn't give less than 2 ***** about taking measures against extremists in Mali... when compared to assuring the economical survival of your country.
Something that Merkel does 1000 times better, mind you. Something that Cameron is also looking for, however I cannot agree with his isolationist politics.
Yes, the EU has way too much bureaucracy, so much that is detrimental to traditionally capitalist-conservative states such as UK... but it must survive, for the good of Europe.

There is literally nothing wrong with Ultra-Nationalism in my mind. All it does is reinforce a countries opinion of itself to the point where the people living in it are actually proud of themselves and not self-insulting like many western nations have become. France for the French, Britain for the British, and the Ukraine for Ukrainians, simple as that.

"but I count literally nothing of substance in your response"

And that's because you're a complete idiot. I did mention one VERY good reason right at the end of the comment, but your nationalitard brain is incapable of discerning any reason or logic.

Nothing good comes with nationalism. Absolutely nothing. Only bigotism, hatred, xenophobia and at the very least an ounce of megalomania, thinking that somehow your country is "sacred" and "holy" while the rest around you are filth.

Patriotism? I can understand it and support it.
But Nationalism?! The whole "my country right or wrong" retarded thinking?! No, thank you!

It's because people like you Dictators like Hitler, Stalin, Mao etc. have risen to power. Because they tickled your absolutely retarded "nationalistic sentiments". Same happened here, with the Romanian Iron Guard, a group of far-right Orthodox loonies, that my retarded people still consider "heroes" because they committed crimes and massacres, all in the name of the ********** "right belief" and "to purge this holy land from foreigners and country traitors".

tl;dr - I ******* hate nationalism, due to many reasons. And any sane person should hate it too.
