Well, if you think about it, it actually makes men look pretty lame as well. If they don't want to hurt the girl, they should let her be with someone who actually loves her. It's not really caring about the girl, it's caring about their own well-being cause seeing her cry would make them feel bad about themselves. Imo very egoistic. If it really was for her good, they'd just say "I don't love you, we should split" and be off with it.
Of course that doesn't make chicks any better. They are just as selfish, keeping someone else from moving on because they are too insecure to deal with few months of being single. In the end it's always bad for the other half who is in love and has hopes for something that eventually will break down. The longer it takes, the worse.

tl;dr - no matter the reason, not dumping someone you don't love is holding them back in a relationship without future and doing harm and harm only;

we dont need sources or evidence, its a common known FACT that women dont give a **** about men and do EXACTLY this scenario EVERY ******* time.
They have a boyfriend until they find someone who interests them more than the current poor asshole and then they tell him to **** off (if they are nice, otherwise they just move on without even giving a **** about the last asshole). Rinse and repeat.

My only guess for reasoning behind this is that psychologically, men tend to be more protective of things they consider their territory, and women generally tend to want some kind of 'shelter'.

Also, for this content to be taken correctly and in context, you should include the research pool. That's middle school science there.

For the most part, yes, but there are psychological traits that would be nearly impossible to naturally suppress, save for phenomena. As long as men are men, they'll act like men. I would like to see the whole survey results. This could be misleading given they dont say how many men and women were interviewed. Also I would like to see the other responses, as more men could have given another response that was equally insensitive as the quoted response from some of the women. Though unbelievable that anyone would do such a thing, I suspect this could be an attempt to shock people or get a lot of views on the internet by giving people incomplete information.
