Army man here, parachuting squad (60th Parachuting Battalion of Romania).
The guy landing there not only did he cover behind mountains with the rotor blades dangerously close to the ground, he is holding the chopper perfectly still. He gave a lot of ground cover for the troops.
He got up almost EXACTLY as the last soldier touched down. He also dropped supplies out.
TL;DR He became chopper.
